Welcome back to America's leading higher education law podcast, EdUp Legal - part of the EdUp Experience Podcast Network! In this episode, we hear from Charles Rose, III, Dean of Ohio Northern University Pettit College of Law.
Learn more about Charles Rose, III, and his path to leadership of Ohio Northern University Pettit College of Law, following an active duty career in the U.S. Army. He retired from the Judge Advocate General's Corps before joining Stetson University College of Law's faculty, leading their Trial Advocacy Program, which maintained a first-place ranking for 12 years in a row. The "Godfather of Advocacy," as those in the field call him, brought his leadership and training experience to his work at ONU, where they proudly and intentionally train lawyers who focus on taking care of people. Dean Rose is a prolific author in trial advocacy, evidence, criminal procedure and military law, and has the most fun when he is in the classroom teaching students. That enthusiasm will spread to Iceland this summer as ONU hosts a comparative advocacy training program. Dean Rose shares his pride over ONU students who responded to the tragic deaths of George Floyd and Brionna Taylor by creating the Civil Rights Law Journal, which debuted this fall. He closes with predictions of what is in store for legal education in the coming decade.
