The crew practices social distancing and decided to pod via Skype, to share their experiences during the quarantine.  Tune in to hear how the crew is adjusting and how they find time to themselves when everyone is home! 

The pod was recorded on March 21st, at which the CDC reported 24,583 cases of Covid-19 in the United States. It has not even been two weeks and the number of reported cases is over 140,000. The team at Effort and Vibes wants to stress the importance of social distancing and how it will help to stop the spread. We want to thank all of the medical staff on the frontlines of this epidemic and to all of the essential employees who are still working to provide some sort of normalcy during this time. We hope that this pod will relate to you and your family and to let you know that we're all in this together.

Can you rework a broken friendship? They share some tips on which ones may be worth the effort. Are you getting over it or suppressing it? The E&V guys share times as men where they didn’t know how to share their feelings with others. Do y’all know the "partner show" rules? Effort and Vibes break down the relationship rules when it comes down watching a tv series together. What do you imagine the future will look like? The crew brainstorm what future generations will think about the 2000s and what tech will take over.

This week, Effort and Vibes talk Black History Month and their experiences being Black year round. The crew recap their Valentine’s Day festivities and Tati and Zay share how they know no one is smoking outside in Chicago right now. They discuss The Photograph starring Issa Rae and LaKeith Stanfield and the importance of black love on screen to assist in the break down of generational trauma. Have you ever talked to your family about your family story? The crew share some of their family history, lineage, and the importance of asking questions when you can. When is the first time you can recall an instance of Black Girl Magic? The crew share their favorite encounters of Black Women and why they always deserve more praise than we can give them. We break down why Black Boy Joy isn’t just for kids and whether or not to use the N word in mixed company.  The crew shout out some badass Black people they have the privilege of knowing. Remember; show your Black friends love all year, not just in February!

This week we're elevating the vibes and talking about love and all things Valentine's Day!

The crew talks "Afrochella" and retracing their African heritage. Have you heard of "wrist-bending?" Zay explains your new favorite slang. The E&V crew make it law, that if no one swag surfs when "Swag Surfin" drops, your party is whack...straight up *Travis Scott Voice*! Tae explains why we won't stop talking about slavery and we're not gonna stop swag surfin' in the club. Tune in to hear all about the return of everyone's childhood snack!

We take it back to the Valentine's Day treats and who got what Valentine. We talk love letters and lyrics that got all the ladies in middle school. The guys talk vulnerability and the opportunity Valentine's Day gives them to open up. Do you love publicly receiving Valentine's gifts or find it awkward? Javon shares a time that Tae went all out with gifts and his clunky trip home on the bus. Don't know where to go for dinner?
