It pains me that we went to Afghanistan in shambles 20 years ago. And we are leaving it in shambles now. The truth is we never intended to be the permanent protectors of all Afghanis from the Taliban. We should not be there and should not have been there in the first place. It has always been a fallacy to fight them there, so we do not have to fight them here. Those were slogans created to placate funding of a military-industrial complex. We could have spent a fraction of the cost securing our borders, airports, and shores with covert surgical operations when needed.

I feel for the plight of the Afghani women. I wrote a post at DailyKos where a reader suggested that America should have, installed a female president and armed the women. Because the Afghani forces did not put up a fight, just maybe if they were fighting for a cause they really believed in, they would have engaged. As painful as it is, Afghanistan is out of our hands and was always out of our hands. Big guns, fighter jets, tanks, and other sophisticated weaponry is no match for unchanging culture. I hope we can be lenient with our asylum policy to let every Afghani who worked for Americans and every Afghani woman, so desires come to America.

Republican Senators Tommy Tuberville & Josh Hawley tried to embarrass Democrats with a #DefundThePolice stunt. Senators Cory Booker and Dick Durbin embarrassed them.

They tried it two times. And each time, it failed spectacularly. These Senators actually make Fox News’ Peter Doocy seem like a genius.

Alabama Republican Senator Tommy Tuberville thought he would embarrass Democrats. The problem is when Republicans start believing their misinformation and lies; they make these stupid moves. The Senator submitted a nonbinding amendment to eliminate funding to localities that defund the police.

It should not be difficult to define those who are aggressive COVID Anti-mask/Antivaxxers. They are anti-life, immoral, and inhumane.

Mehdi Hasan hits the nail on the head. Democrats seem to be disengaged from the current vaccine/mask hysteria. The behavior of these medical rebels is tantamount to a death wish.

It should not be difficult to message this not only to Democrats and Progressives but also to the country. Everyone loves their children. Many have teachers, custodians, coaches, and others in their lives.

(1) Inflation number looks high because it is compared to deflated prices from one year ago. (2) Europe did less because built into their system is a safety net. (3) If $3.5 trillion dollars for things that we need and are overdue will crush the economy it means the current economy was not designed for most but for a few. (4) A House Democrat saying they are concerned about raising taxes when those with capital are the least taxed is why Nancy Pelosi must not pass the bipartisan bill until the reconciliation bill is passed. (5) A Democrat saying this is not something we should jam through is naive and shows weakness after the middle-class and poor have been jammed for decades.

Schools are starting to reopen for the fall. Competent leaders are ensuring children are masked. Unfortunately, in states like Texas, Florida, and Tennessee, mask usage is not mandatory. Superintendents in Dallas, Houston, and Tennessee are disregarding the death-wish-pushing governors. They are considering mask mandates.
