We welcome back to KC, special guest Danny McGaw! He lived and played music around KC and Lawrence for years but currently calls California home. He's in town this week for some gigs and to be part of the 87th Annual Plaza Art Fair. Danny brought his guitar and plays for us live in our studio. He’s one of 23 musicians that will play on Ink Magazine’s Stage at The Art Fair, Sept. 21-23.

It's a long awaited show as we sit down with one of our favorite musicians, Calvin Arsenia. This is a HUGE week for Calvin as he’s celebrating the release of his new album, Cantaloupe (Calvin Arsenia Cantaloupe Album Release Show) with a massive release show on Saturday, September 15. He along with a dozen+ other musicians will host an amazing evening at The Gem Theater in the Historic 18th & Vine Jazz District. We preview his brand new album as well as play music from a couple of the musicians joining him on stage, Krystle Warren and J Ashley Miller (Jametatone). It’s all about this Saturday’s 14th Annual KKFI Crossroads Music Fest 2018 presented by Lead Bank this time on the Eight One Sixty. CMFKC founder, Bill Sundahl will join us to talk about the fest and to play music from several bands playing the event this Saturday, September 8, featuring 30 bands across 8 stages in the KC Crossroads Arts District. We sit down with special guests Radkey this time on the show! These guys have gigged all over the world and they were recently featured in a huge tv commercial that led to them opening up for Jack White on his most recent tour. It’s a double-header this time on the Eight One Sixty! First up Emmaline Twist will be in the studio with us, hanging out and previewing their brand new album, "Dissimulation". After that Shaun Crowley of Manor Records will stop by and talk about the bands playing this Saturday, August 25 at Californos as part of the Manor Records Summer Showcase #2. We hear music from Toughies, PLANET WHAT and Scruffy & the Janitors.
For this show we are joined by special guest, Duncan Burnett! He’s playing a great show at The Bottleneck on Friday night, August 17 with the mighty and soulful Black Joe Lewis and the Honeybears. We sit down with Duncan Burnett and hear some of his music, as well as some projects he helped record and produce along the way. We are joined for the last time this month by Michelle Bacon to continue talking about her special series, “Turning The Tables KC.” Turning The Tables KC is a feature about Kansas City women in music and it tries to capture their experiences of working in the music industry. Today on the show we hear from Hi-Lux and Katy Guillen and The Girls, they’re playing a FREE show tomorrow at 6PM at Mills Record Company as the finale to the "Turning The Tables" series. We also hear from other women in KC music: Amy Farrand and The Like, Samantha Fish, Krystle Warren, The Philistines with Kimmie Queen, The Greeting Committee, Lily DeTaeye Music and Trampled Under Foot.
Michelle Bacon returns as we continue our special 4-part series, “Turning The Tables KC.” Turning The Tables KC is a feature on The Bridge’s website about Kansas City women in music and it tries to capture their experiences of working in a traditionally male-dominated industry. We hear brand new music from young musicians: Jo Music, Miki P, Gracie Schramm and Maddi. We also hear from some of our favorites including Mess, Payge Turner and Rachel Mallin. Also, a brand new one from Vigil and Thieves, who are playing this weekend at the 7th Annual Lawrence Field Day Fest. Plus, music from KCK native Janelle Monae, who was recently announced as headliner of Open Spaces in October at Starlight. Then we jump into the vault for an old one from Kianna of Yes You Are from her previous project, Tilly and the Wall.
“Turning The Tables KC” wraps up with a concert on July 25 at Mills Records with music from Katy Guillen and Hi-Lux and with a conversation by a panel of musicians as well.

Sons of Great Dane have been making music together for years and recently came off of a hiatus for their new EP release show this Friday, July 13 at The Brick. The new EP is called “A Bit Before The Dawn".
Then, Michelle Bacon returns as we highlight the contributions of Kansas City women in music and capture their experiences of working in a traditionally male-dominated industry. We hear music from some powerful KC women musicians. This week we’re diving into the vault and play music from: Alacartoona with Erin McGrane, Vedera with Kristen May, Anvil Chorus with Anna Cole, The Wilders with Betse Ellis and American Catastrophe with Amy Farrand.
