How clearly can you see the life you are living?
More than just the day in front of you. The whole trajectory of it. The shape of your days. The pace you keep. The direction you are moving in.
Most of us rarely pause to see it. We are in the thick of it, moving from one task to the next, so close to the details that the wider view disappears.
To see clearly is to take a step back. To understand what is happening to you while it is happening, rather than seeing it in hindsight, or when something forces you to look.
To be aware of what is happening while it is occurring, is clarity in motion, and it is rare, because life keeps us moving too fast to see it.
So step back for a moment, and look clearly at the life you are living. The pace of it. The fullness of it.The design of it. Look at the way there is always one more thing, and then another, and how the day ends while you have hardly caught your breath.
This has become the new normal. A societal expectation to maintain the pace, carry the load, keep on going. It looks like what everybody else does. And the pace of life is only accelerating.
In the age of AI the race is on to make life happen faster.
AI answers everything, decides everything, fills every gap, and pulls your attention towards it.
More content designed to keep you hooked. More information flooding in to overwhelm. More speed that becomes the new normal.
And this is only the beginning of AI taking over the human doing. At first it may seem like it is taking the load off in some ways but in others it is feeding the frenzy.
We allow it to infiltrate our lives because we see it as helpful, one less thing to think about because we can automate it.
But have you considered that it pulls you further away from your own awareness of what is really happening while it is happening?
As the world speeds up, taking a pause to come back to yourself becomes the necessity to keep you grounded.
AI can answer endless questions, except the one that matters most. What do you need, right now in this moment? Only you can know that, and only you can answer that.
The faster the world moves, the more your own inner clarity becomes irreplaceable.
Seeing clearly becomes the wake up call you need to answer.
Underneath the acceleration, the stress you carry every day is wearing you down, and gradually you have stopped noticing because you have felt it for so long.
At that level, something has to give, life gets harshly interrupted. A moment arrives when realisation hits. It becomes undeniable that this way of living has reached its limit.
For some it arrives as a diagnosis that stops everything.
And such a moment brings a sharp clarity about what really matters, and about what doesn’t.
And it poses questions that becomes so pressing. How did I get here? How did I drift so far from myself?
This is the truth that moment reveals, and you don’t need a diagnosis to see it.
The clarity a diagnosis brings is yours to claim today, while you are well, long before life asks for it the hard way.
The truth is that you are creating the life you are living.
Within the new normalisation of life comes your agreement to live that way.
You are the one saying yes to the overload. You are the one tipping your own balance. You are the one paying the price.
Wellbeing is all about being in balance
Wellbeing is a holistic state of balance characterized by the harmony of mind, body, and spirit. It transcends mere absence of illness and encompasses a flourishing existence where one feels integrated, purposeful, and connected to all of life.
Strip wellbeing back to its core, and you will see balance is the underlying principle. An ability to navigate what life throws at you, stress, uncertainty, and change while maintaining a sense of equilibrium.
A body in balance regulates itself, repairs itself, defends itself, and keeps you in a state of well being.
A body held out of balance, in stress month after month, tells another story. The immune system dips. The stress hormones climb. The repair gets postponed until it becomes a diagnosis.
Being in balance is the blueprint of life itself. It is in the design of how we function.
How much you pour out against how much you take back. How much you drive against how much you rest. That balance is yours to hold, and yours to tip.
Years ago ‘work life balance’ was a goal to aim for, but it was rarely achievable because life kept losing out to the hours and the energy that work demanded.
So it became about ‘work life integration’. Being in balance is considered to be unattainable so forget about that and figure out a way to integrate it all before you become overloaded.
When you lose connection to your own distress signal
It is easy to forget how it feels to be in a state of balance, when overload becomes the new normal, your own inner signal gets lost. The steady inner sense of what you feel, what you need, what is true for you, fades away.
You stop hearing yourself. You move through the day on reaction, pulled from one demand to the next, present in body and absent from yourself.
In a way you go unconscious, living out the programme while checked out from the reality of your life.
Your thoughts, your feelings and your body pull in multiple directions at once, and the clear line back to yourself goes down.
This is what overwhelm truly is.
A loss of clarity. A loss of coherence.A loss of connection to yourself.
This is the warning sign we need to understand. When ignored it shuts you out of your own consciousness, out of the connection to yourself that all wellbeing rests on.
What wellbeing really feels like.
Many of us have become so accustomed to a state of perpetual busyness, that the deeper rhythms of our being are unfamiliar.
For those who may not be familiar with the nuances of wellbeing, it can be challenging to recognize what it feels like.
One of the clearest markers of wellbeing is the ability to be fully present in the moment. When one is in a state of wellbeing, distractions lose their grip.
The mind is not constantly racing ahead, planning, or worrying. Instead, there is a deep engagement with the here and now.
This presence is accompanied by an ability to inhabit life in the mundane. To welcome the chance to slow down, pause and just breathe.
Savoring a meal. Enjoying a conversation, Observing the world around you.
Wellbeing brings with it a clarity that cuts through the noise of confusion and ambiguity. Wellbeing is a clear mind free from mental clutter, where thoughts flow freely and decision-making feels aligned and intentional.
Thoughts are coherent and focused.Decisions feel intuitive rather than forced.Direction is aligned and clearly signposted.
For anyone not accustomed to this state, it may feel like waking up from a fog, where the path ahead becomes illuminated and choices arise with greater ease.
There is an inner sense of calm and contentment that prevails even amongst external chaos. There is a sense of trust in oneself, a belief that one’s instincts and intentions are guiding them toward what is meaningful and fulfilling.
A hallmark of wellbeing is the experience of vitality, an invigorating sense of energy that permeates both body and mind.
There is a feeling of being alive and engaged with life. Daily activities no longer feel burdensome; instead, they become opportunities for expression and exploration.
Recognizing when one is in a state of wellbeing is about tuning into the subtle signals of alignment, clarity, and vitality.
For those who have been accustomed to fatigue or burnout, this newfound energy may feel exhilarating and empowering as a reminder that the body and spirit can be replenished through intentional care and alignment.
The stress you are hooked on is an addiction
The body responds to stress with floods of cortisol and adrenaline, and they carry a hit of focus and urgency, a charge that busyness rewards.
Stay in that state long enough, and the body begins to treat it as home. Then, when things fall still, the calm feels foreign. Wrong. Unsafe.Unfamiliar.
And you reach for the noise again, for the next thing, to feel like yourself. So the go go go becomes a state the body craves, and stepping out of it takes real work, slowly, over time.
And here is the part that you may be unaware of. Every day you choose the pace, the noise, the busyness, you have forgotten that it is a choice. If you are choosing this, you can choose otherwise.
The moment you say enough is enough.
Change begins with each admission.
Enough of pushing on empty. Enough of giving your best hours to the stress. Enough of holding a pace that is wearing you down.
Saying enough means taking an honest look at what you have had enough of, and one small refusal in return. One yes withdrawn. One evening reclaimed. One boundary held.
You restore your balance the same way you lost it. A little at a time.
The way home was always in you
When you turn toward that balance, you will look for the way back, and you will find it waiting within you.
This is the wisdom EIRANU has been giving you, week after week. It is the real medicine you can administer to yourself.
Your body is the expert on its own wellbeing, a self regulating, self repairing system, when it is maintained in balance and allowed to rest and repair adequately.
Your body lives in the present moment and answers your every thought, so focusing on ease in the mind becomes ease in the body.
Your attention is the most valuable thing you have, and wherever it goes, your whole state follows. Put your attention on the life you want to create not the one the world is pulling you towards.
Life is happening now, and most of the day you are on autopilot, operating on a familiar program and unaware of what life is offering in the here and now.
The breath is the gateway to awareness back to the present moment. Slow it down, and the body hears that it is safe, and it moves out of alert and into rest and repair.
When your thoughts, your feelings and your actions come into agreement, you find coherence, and life lines up to match what you are purposefully creating. This is the way manifestation works.
And it requires a repeated act to take charge of your life. Return your attention to yourself. A few times a day. Practice makes a habit.
Why wellbeing feels out of reach
If it is possible to create a life of wellbeing, why does so it feel so unattainable?
Because the culture has made the stress feel normal and calm feel foreign. The addictive state of stress makes stillness feel uncomfortable.
If you don’t have something to do it feels like you are wasting time especially when there is so much to do and there is never enough time.
Choosing to slow down, take a pause, take a breath, inviting a little calm can feel uncomfortable. There is a discomfort in choosing to step out of the norm.
Taking a break has been made to feel like something you earn, rather than something you are owed.
Naming these is what frees you from them.
The discomfort of slowing down is the withdrawal. Separating yourself from the norm is allowed. And taking a rest is yours to claim.
Each time you come back to yourself and stay a moment longer, the calm grows a little more familiar, and the body learns again that stillness is safe. That is how you unhook. Slowly. One return at a time.
An invitation for a guided practice. Coming home to yourself.
This is an invitation to come home to yourself, and to let your body experience stillness as safety.
Find a space where you can be still and undisturbed. Make any adjustments you need to feel at ease.
Sit comfortably or lie down, and let your body settle into whatever holds it. Allow your eyes to close, or soften your gaze.
Bring your attention to your breath.
Feel the inhale arrive. Feel the exhale release.
Take a slow deep breath in through the nose, filling the belly, expanding the ribcage and hold for a moment then let it sigh out through the mouth, long and slow.
As the breath slows down in a repeated pattern, the body receives the signal that it is safe to relax.
So repeat the slow deep long inhale and exhale.
Take a slow deep breath in through the nose, filling the belly with air, expanding the ribcage and hold for a moment then let it sigh out through the mouth, long and slow.
Bring your attention to the body and notice how it feels to give yourself space to relax.
The heart rate steadies. The tensions drops. The system moves out of being on alert and toward rest.
You may feel a restlessness here, a pull to get up, to check something, to fill the space. This is the addiction, and it is distracting you. Stay in awareness that your mind wants you to be busy but your body needs rest.
Breathe slowly and deeply. Let the restlessness rise, and let it pass.
As it passes, feel what waits underneath it. The steadiness. The ease. The return of yourself to yourself.
Rest here a moment, and know that this is available to you at any hour of any day, for free, for the rest of your life.
Then carry this awareness back into your day, and each time the pace pulls you under, come back. One breath. One return at a time.
On reflection
You are creating the life you are living, and you can begin to create it differently today.
You can claim the clarity a diagnosis brings, long before the diagnosis comes. You can say enough. You can stop tipping your own balance, and start restoring it, one small choice at a time.
This is the truest work there is, and it was always yours to do. Wellbeing was always beyond buying. It is a balance to keep, and it is kept from within.
Choose it now, while the choice is fully yours.
This is the return to yourself.
