Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but why is it scrutinized by so many external parties? There are over 7.5 billion humans on planet earth, so if someone is looking for love, there is bound to be a person for him or her. Depending on your beliefs, love and marriage are typically viewed as a monogamous partnership, so who cares what others think if, at the end of the day, it is a relationship that only concerns the two people involved? Such a simple thought, yet never easy to think through and accomplish. No matter what, people will have something to say about you and your loved one. One of the hottest topics, if not hottest, discussed amongst peers is interracial dating; specifically between a white person and a black person. As the world continues to be a melting pot, the number of mixed babies birthed into this world has skyrocketed. What’s become very common, is still heavily debated. Joining this episode of EiTHER, our good friends – husband and wife Greg (white) and Aleah (black) – discuss their own personal experiences and the topic in general. Many of us have our own preferences, but not all of us agree, even if the relationship does not concern our happiness and wellbeing. Press play and listen. Enjoy! #TrunksUp

Mental health has recently emerged as a topic in the forefront that's been publicly neglected for years, specifically in the African American community. It has often been frowned upon and looked at as a sign of weakness if one admitted to struggling with his or her own mental health. Black men do indeed have a high rate of suicide but the public does not hear or talk about this. On the latest installment of the #BeHerd series, Tiana Caldwell, founder of the Journaling Group 'Write That Shit Down (WTSD)', discusses her group/initiative WTSD, her foundation Kiss Your Little Brothers (KYLB), the importance of journaling, and keeping a diary for your mental health, and many more insightful thoughts on how the African American community can battle the stigma of mental health and support our brothers and sisters. Enjoy! #TrunksUp
Every 4 years, a candidate is inducted as the new or repeating president of the United States. It’s the year 2020 and it’s been a year that has reminded us all America has not seen much progress from a racial and equality standpoint. Now more than ever, we are seeing people draw a line in the sand to publicize their stances and beliefs. Friendships are being ruined, families are divided; ultimately representing the current climate of America. Are you able to separate politics from friendship at this point? Is that really a topic that can be swept under the rug and not talked about if two friends have opposing viewpoints? November 3rd is just around the corner and will be one of the most important elections of our lifetime. The road to get there has been ugly; and the path formed after may get uglier.
