In Spanish, we say 'I have hunger' instead of saying 'I am hungry'. The verb TENER (to have) goes with the abstract noun HAMBRE (hunger). Conjugated into a first-person verb it would be TENGO HAMBRE.

*I wanted to corroborate stats about hunger worldwide and I found some sources from 2020 with FAO estimating 690 million undernourished people. However, the UN had estimated in 2019 that 820 million people were experiencing hunger. That's a lot and numbers for sure went up with the Covid-19 pandemic.
