Raising expectations high and then deliberately thwarting them is a pretty dangerous thing to do. If you turn the tables on people like that—as Jesus did—you’re not leaving them with many options. A sermon on Mark 11:1-11.

"We want to see Jesus," we say with the pilgrims, and Jesus doesn’t respond, “Well of course, bring them in!” because it’s just not that simple for you and me. But notice that he doesn’t say, “No way” to our request, either.
