RELEASE NOTES:

Toronto-based DJ and producer Adam James showcases his signature depth with his latest release on Simmetry Sounds, “The Way You Move.” Striking a perfect balance between shadow and light, the title track leans heavily into a dark, driving atmosphere that’s softened by intricate synths and a compelling vocal hook that anchors the groove. This solo work highlights his individual mastery of melodic techno, blending his classical roots with the gritty, hypnotic pulse of the underground.

The release also features the second track, “Rave Genny,” a bouncy melodic techno track that complements the mood with its energetic rhythm and vibrant synth work. Together, both tracks highlight a sophisticated range designed for the dance floor, capturing the energy of the warehouse circuit and marking another standout addition to the Simmetry Sounds catalog.

Simmetry Sounds is a Canadian techno label featuring driving techno rhythms mixed with cinematic melodies. Founded by Sara Simms, the label releases high-energy techno, including Sophia Sigma’s “Machine Hearts” (2024) and Sara Simms “Porsha ft. Karl Wolf” (2025).

DJ/ARTIST BIO:

Jiayuan Hu, known as SodiumHot, is a vocalist and DJ who ignites diverse communities through emotional dance music. In collaboration with many well-known names in the trance and melodic house scenes, she has released music on major labels such as Black Hole Recordings, Enhanced, and Statement.

The past year, SodiumHot has hit the live scene DJing, sharing stages with touring artists from Colorize, This Never Happened, and Anjunadeep at the hottest venues in Seattle. These encounters catalyzed a string of collaborations to be expected in the near future.

@jplantieri makes his debut on EDM Addicts with a refined and immersive take on Land of Ice, reimagining Lorna James' original into a deep, hypnotic techno journey. Built on a rolling progressive groove, the track leans into a rich, minimal framework with a subtle synthwave edge.

Beneath the surface lies a darker driving underbelly, while delicate piano elements cut through with a contrasting lift adding warmth, emotion, and an unexpected sense of space. The result is a track that balances tension and release with precision. Smooth, atmospheric, and effortlessly listenable, this remix is equally at home in late night DJ sets or extended personal listening.

Our good friend, Argentinian deep progressive star, @ekis-ekis-music, is celebrating his ten-year anniversary as a producer with this special, exclusive DJ mix he has created, just for us. And it consists of ALL-ORIGINAL EKIS EKIS TRACKS & RE-MIXES!! Enjoy....

THE STORY:

10 Years of EKIS EKIS: The Journey from Catamarca to the Global Electronic Underground

The Argentine electronic music ecosystem is globally renowned, but for decades, it was an industry heavily centralized in the urban hubs of Buenos Aires and Córdoba. Enter EKIS EKIS, a project that has spent the last ten years shattering those geographic boundaries.

Hailing from a small town in Catamarca—a region historically off the map for avant-garde electronic music—this project has proven that world-class sound knows no borders. As the brand celebrates its 10th anniversary, it stands as a masterclass in digital democratization, raw talent, and strategic evolution.

The Philosophy of Anonymity

Every iconic brand has a compelling origin story. For EKIS EKIS, it began in 2016 under a fascinating philosophical premise: total anonymity.

Initially operating behind the mathematical symbol of an unknown variable, "[Xx]", the goal was to shield the music from any geographic or personal prejudice. Instead of relying on a localized identity, the creator let the intricate soundscapes, meticulous audio engineering, and curatorial skills speak entirely for themselves. This phase laid the psychological and structural groundwork for what would become a global sonic footprint.

A Prolific Sonic Architecture

The signature EKIS EKIS sound is an immersive hybrid: it bridges the hypnotic, atmospheric progressions of Progressive House with the darker, resonant, and emotionally charged energy of Melodic Techno.

Massive Output: The project boasts over 200 formal releases spread across 40 international record labels, including highly prestigious imprints like Univack and Sound Avenue.

Algorithmic Defiance: In an industry that usually forces artists into hyper-specialized niches, EKIS EKIS has accomplished the rare statistical feat of cracking the Beatport Top 100 in seven different subgenres.

This wasn't just an album; it was an exercise in strategic musical diplomacy. EKIS EKIS built an active studio network with over 75 artists across 34 countries, spanning all five inhabited continents. By collaborating with local heavyweights in places like Egypt, Australia, and the UK, the brand executed a brilliant cross-pollination strategy—organically infiltrating new, captive audiences globally and turning a solo producer into a central node of the global underground network.

Global Support: The music of EKIS EKIS has been championed by foundational titans like Richie Hawtin, Paul Oakenfold, and Nick Warren.

The Holy Grail: A definitive crowning achievement was having a track featured on John Digweed's legendary "Transitions" radio show—the ultimate seal of approval for a progressive producer.

. . . . . . . . . .

1) Ekis Ekis, Dion Paola (AUS) Ignition (Sinan Arsan Remix) [Wander Nation Records]

2) Vagner Silveira Stelar (Ekis Ekis Remix) [South America Avenue]

Detroit’s DJ Cent debuts on Simmetry Sounds with rave-inspired anthem

A significant new release from a true architect of the Detroit scene. DJ Cent (Cynthia Travis) is releasing “Get Your Whistle” on the Simmetry Sounds label on March 6th, 2026.

As a protégé of the late K-Hand, DJ Cent’s sound is steeped in authentic Detroit house history. This track is a high-energy tribute to rave culture’s “whistle” tradition, capturing the collective energy she’s become known for during her sets at Movement Festival and sets at Detroit’s TV Lounge.

Why this is a story now:

The Heritage: DJ Cent was recently honored in the 2025 “Respect the Architects” exhibit at Movement, recognizing her role in building the Detroit community.

The Mentorship: Her direct lineage to K-Hand, the “First Lady of Detroit Techno,” informs the track’s raw, pulsating energy.

The Impact: Beyond the decks, she is a mentor at Detroit’s Underground Music Academy, bridging the gap between the city’s foundations and its future.
