We discuss the tools and tactics we implement in our. mornings to transform the way we start the day and how this has shifted from the past. Waking up early and focusing on reflection and mindset has totally changed the way we tackle each day.
Whether you're a seasoned early riser or a sleep-deprived parent looking to reclaim your day, we hope our journey will empower you to transform your routine and embrace the magic of the early hours.

Today we talk through the Hero’s Journey following four stages and how this can be applied to our life, past and present. We like this framework as it helps us put challenging times into the context of the big picture, and also see when we’re stuck or trying to push a gut feeling down with numbing behaviour.
We discuss the narrative self, doing things for the story, like the story of what we want our life to look like in our 30s and how it’s linked to the hero’s journey. Carly talks about main character energy and Matthew talks about how he likes the dynamic where Carly pushes us to do more things as a family and Matthew help make it happen.
We get into the details of challenges around starting a podcast and what the actual stats have been in our first month. If you’re on the fence maybe this podcast is for you just to remind you, it will be challenging but you can do it! Carly was stuck being the reluctant hero and just not starting for almost a year.
Whether it’s moving to a new county, quitting drinking, starting that podcast or something smaller like starting a workout program, cold plunging, journalling or waking up earlier - the hero’s journey is a great framework to use.
We were inspired by Mel Robbin’s latest podcast episode to talk about this topic - thanks Mel Robbins!

In this episode we talk about how we strive for balance and manage all our competing priorities; parenting, full-time jobs, wellness and everything in between. It was a timely episode for us as we’re currently juggling working, trying to adhere to an intense exercise regime, all while our toddler is home with Chicken Pox.
For us we focus on four key steps to set ourselves up for success, starting with goal setting and aligning on our priorities for they year, weekly planning & scheduling, being okay with change and doing a weekly review to constantly evolve and improve. We do our weekly review live on this episode, because it was overdue, and we came up with some solutions to improve some areas that have been lagging in our life. We have found that following these steps helps us not only achieve balance, but also hit our goals while avoiding resentment. It’s been a process and we are always working on getting better in this area.
