This week sees the team from the PR Pod sit down with 97.3FM's very own Monique Dews to discuss her career in broadcast Journalism!
Monique sat down with us to discuss how she is covering COVID-19 on the Brisbane airwaves and how this ranks in her list of challenges in her career.
Monique is the current Breakfast Newsreader for 973 FM Brisbane.
She loves covering the big stories, but also oversees twice daily entertainment news spots, and regular satirical “Your News” segments.
Monique has had a long and successful radio career. She has been awarded two ACRA awards for Best Newsreader Metropolitan, and has been nominated several times in the category. Before returning to her home state of QLD, Monique was News Director of Nova Sydney for ten years.
She has been fortunate to have mentored many young broadcasters through Nova, Fox Sports, and AFTRS. Monique studied journalism at QUT, and does voice over work, media training, and hosting as well as her core role of journalist.
She recently completed a podcasting course through AFTRS and hopes to do more in that arena through 2020.
