    BIO

    Fay Arjomandi is the Founder and CEO of the pioneering edge cloud company mimik. From 2016-2018, she was the executive chairman of H2 Wellness, a software company based in Los Angeles. Between Aug 2014 to Oct 2016, she was the CEO of digital health company NantMobile and led its Augmented reality platform (iD), several digital/genomics health initiatives, and WiGig fabless semiconductor company, Tensorcom. 

    Prior to NantMobile, Fay was the CEO of Vodafone xone which was the innovation brand for Vodafone. She oversaw partnerships with start-up companies to develop, test and prepare for commercial deployment in Vodafone’s global markets. Additionally, her role included managing Vodafone Ventures, board membership of Vodafone Americas Enterprise and President & Chair position at Vodafone Americas Foundation. Prior to Vodafone, Fay was the co-founder and CEO of three technology startups that built location-based services (L3 Technology), mobile quality of service improvement platform (Mobidia), and mimik.

    As a pragmatic technology innovator, Fay has authored many patents in Telecommunications, Transport Layer Protocols, Mobile traffic management, QoS, and Edge Cloud Computing. Fay has a unique talent for spotting future trends and “connecting the dots.”

    In 2020, she was named the Edge Woman of the year by the Linux Foundation. In 2018 she was the Alumni of the Year at Concordia University in Montreal where she received her bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. In 2014, she was named as one of the most influential woman business leaders in Silicon Valley by San Francisco Business Week, and in 2006, received the distinguished Business in Vancouver’s “Top 40 Under 40″ award. She is a member of the Forbes Technology Council and advises many startup companies and is a Board Advisor to American Tower the global provider of wireless communications infrastructure

    Fay is passionate about digital inclusion and equity and has spent the last decade to create disruptive technology platforms and enablers for cloud decentralization to ensure a future sustainable internet. She has advised startup companies on how to build successful businesses, as well as corporations on digital transformation and innovation with impact.  In addition to exceptional leadership and vision, Fay is a highly sought-after global speaker and industry thought leader given her specialization and years of experience in digital communications, software applications and edge cloud computing. Fay holds a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Concordia University. She has international experience and has lived and worked in many countries in North America, Europe, and the Middle East.

    Simon Crosby is the CTO of Swim.ai, a company that enables customers to derive continuous intelligence from their streaming real-time data, as well as the co-founder of Bromium, Inc., which pioneered enterprise virtualization security for cloud and desktop by protecting end users against advanced malware, financed by top-tier investors Andreessen Horowitz, Ignition Capital, Highland Capital Partners, Intel Capital, Meritech Capital and Lightspeed Venture Partners.

    Simon co-founded CPlane, serving as the Chairman, CEO and Chief Strategy Officer.  He was the co-founder and CTO of XenSource, which was acquired by Citrix Systems, where he then served as the Chief Technology Officer of the Data Center Division and Cloud Division at Citrix Systems Corporation.

    Prior to XenSource, he served as a Principal Engineer at Intel, where he led strategic research in distributed computing, platform security, and network-optimization software, as well as a Faculty Member of Cambridge University, where he led research on network performance and control, and multimedia operating systems.

    He is the author of 50 peer-reviewed articles and patents on datacenter and networking topics including security, network and server virtualization, resource optimization and performance.  He is an active advisor to several startups pioneering the use of AI.  He holds a Ph.D in Computer Science from Cambridge University.

    Chris Pearson is the President of 5G Americas.  In his executive role, he is responsible for the overall planning of the organization and providing management for the integration of strategy and operations in the areas of technology, marketing, public relations and regulatory affairs.  As President of 5G Americas (formerly called 4G Americas), Mr. Pearson represents the organization’s Market Representation interests within the 3rd Generation Partnership Program (3GPP) organization.

    Mr. Pearson led the organization from its inception in 2001 as the 3GPP family of technologies market share grew from 10 percent in 2001 to more than 90 percent in North, Central and South America. Mr. Pearson came to the organization from the Universal Wireless Communications Consortium (UWCC) where he served as Executive Vice President in charge of the strategic executive management of the global TDMA wireless technology consortium.  Prior to joining the UWCC, Mr. Pearson held several senior technical and marketing positions at AT&T Wireless and GTE.

    Michael Sherwood is the CIO for the City of Las Vegas. He has more than 20 years of management experience, specifically in the field of technology, process improvement and innovation with the majority of that experience being in municipal government operations. Most recently he served as the deputy director of public safety, business services and city technology for the city of Irvine, CA since December 2013. In that capacity he was responsible for budgets of both public safety at $70 million and technology at $8 million. He was responsible for more than 100 professional, technical employees and contractors. In that role he developed and implemented key technology strategies that reduced the annual technology operating costs by more than $1 million. He also provided key leadership in bringing Google Fiber to the city. Prior to that position, Michael served as the manager of business services for the City of Irvine, CA from 2012-2013, the chief information officer for City of Oceanside, CA, from 2001-2012 and the information technologies manager for the City of Oceanside, CA from 1997-2000. Before 1997, he served in the private sector.
