  • The Jurassic Timeline

Hi and welcome back to another Elevator talk With Michelle. Today's topic is all about the Jurassic (Park & World) Timeline. Here are the movies in order:

    1. Jurassic Park (1993)- We see the owner of Jurassic Park, John Hammond, forced to recruit a team of scientists and specialists to evaluate his new theme park and ensure that it is truly safe before it can open to the public.

    2. Jurassic Park: The Lost World: (1997)- The second entry in the series picks up four years after the first film and sees Spielberg return as the director.

    3. Jurassic Park III (2001)- Jurassic Park III sees Dr. Alan Grant, return to the series. He has been very busy researching the intelligence of Velociraptors but has been unable to find funding for his new project until he meets Paul and Amanda Kirby, who agree to fund his research.

    4. Jurassic World (2015)- Jurassic World revived the franchise after there was no activity for the past 14 years.

    5. Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (2018)- Fallen Kingdom picks up four years after Jurassic World.

    6. Battle at Big Rock (2019 - Short Film)-It takes place after the events of Fallen Kingdom, which sees the dinosaurs released across the world. The film focuses on a small family camping at a park known as Big Rock.

    7. Jurassic World: Dominion (Open June 10, 2022)- This is the final film in the Jurassic World trilogy series.

Question: Did all the dinosaurs live together, and at the same time? Dinosaur communities were separated by both time and geography. The "Age of Dinosaurs" (Mesozoic Era) included three consecutive geologic time periods (Triassic, Jurassic, and Cretaceous Periods). Different dinosaur species lived during each of these three periods. For example, the Jurassic dinosaur Stegosaurus had already been extinct for approximately 80 million years before the appearance of the Cretaceous dinosaur Tyrannosaurus. In fact, the time separating Stegosaurus and Tyrannosaurus is greater than the time separating the Tyrannosaurus and us. At the beginning of dinosaur history (Triassic Period), there was one supercontinent on Earth called Pangea. Many dinosaur types were spread across it. However, as Pangea broke apart, dinosaurs became scattered across the globe on separate continents, and new types of dinosaurs evolved separately in each geographic area.

Next week's topic will be: The Real Scientific History Behind The Jurassic Park Dinosaurs.

  • How To Stop Procrastinating
Everyone has put off a task at some point in their life. Have you ever wondered why you procrastinate? If you struggle with putting things off, try any of these tips to get you on track:
    1. Stop thinking negative. Many people make a huge deal out of the “what if’s” and then you end up talking yourself out of doing what needs to be done.
    2. Concentrate on your “why.” Try to always focus on why you are doing what you are doing, this will always help you stay on track.
    3. Start writing in your planner. You need to make sure you are creating a schedule or timetable for the things that need to be done. This will keep you on schedule. Be sure to create a hard start time and end time.
    4. Be realistic. As you begin to create your schedule, creating realistic goals, will ensure you set yourself up for success. Some projects can take longer than others, so you will want to allow for the extra time.
    5. Get rid of your excuses. Do any of these sound familiar? “I need to be in the mood”, “I will wait until I have time”, “I work better under pressure”, “I need X to happen before I can get started.”
    6. Get an accountability partner. This person will help you stay on track, by following up with you on a weekly basis to make sure you aren’t letting anything fall through the cracks.
    7. Forgive yourself. Stop beating yourself up about the past. Thoughts such as “I should have started earlier” or “I always procrastinate; I am such a loser” will only make matters worse. Research shows that forgiving yourself for past procrastination will help stay focused on what you need to do.
    8. Stop thinking you have to be perfect. Perfectionism is an all-or-nothing mentality: Something is either perfect, or it’s a failure. People with perfectionistic tendencies tend to wait until things are perfect in order to move forward, so, if it's not perfect, you can’t be finished. Or if it is not the perfect time, you believe you can't start. This all-or-nothing mentality can hold you back from starting or completing tasks. Instead, focus on being better than perfect. This means to still strive for excellence, creating excellence, or setting yourself up with excellent conditions, but at the same time, you focus on getting the job done. Finished is better than perfect.
Closing: It’s time for you to make “someday” today.

  • How To Create The Life You Want
If you feel like you've been going down a path that you're not necessarily proud of, there's a way for you to change it, but it has to start with you. Here are some pointers on how to help you get on track for a much better, positive life that you've created yourself:
(1). Let Go Of Fear. When you're trying to form the life you want, you have to let go of your fears. They will only hold you back from achieving your dreams and what you are destined for.
(2). Stop Worrying About What Others Are Going To Think. When you're trying to turn yourself around, you have to focus on yourself and not worry about what other people are going to think.
(3). Forget The Past. Our past can be one of our biggest obstacles in life. It can hinder us from achieving the life we want, and it can change our thinking because we're afraid of repeating the same old mistakes.
(4). Become Goal-Oriented. This is the time to be selfish and figure out exactly what you want.
(5). Decide What You Want Out Of Life. Identify what you want to change about your life. By deciding what you want to do, it can help you focus on the promises you're making to yourself.
(6). Find your purpose. It takes some self-discovery and reflection to discover what you really love and connect that with how to serve others to help define your purpose. It is suggested that you write your ideas and random thoughts down to gain insight to help define your purpose.
(7). Learn the habits of successful people. Many of the world’s most successful people stick to consistent habits that make a big impact over time. Studying highly successful people increases your chances of achieving goals by developing specific strategies. Whether it means managing finances wisely, regular exercise, learning how to identify your strengths, staying centered when nothing goes right, or knowing how to get back on track, learn the habits of successful people for actionable ways to live a successful life.
(8). Stay motivated along the way. You have to believe in yourself, stay inspired, and push forward despite any setbacks that may come up.

(4). Work On Your Health And Wellness. This is the time to change your diet and start getting in some exercise.
