FIRMS PARTNER TO MEASURE ELEVATOR-AD ROI POTENTIAL
Digital media company Captivate and location analytics firm Placed have partnered to better measure the return-on-investment (ROI) potential of Captivate's digital advertising, found in thousands of elevators and lobbies in 1,800 buildings in the U.S. and Canada, Streetfight reports. Using tracking data including global positioning systems and Wi-Fi, Placed will be able to discover exactly how long and how much potential customers are viewing the ads. Users of Placed's more than 150 apps would have to agree to have their data collected, because, according to Placed CEO David Shem, "it’s important to get location data the right way, where privacy isn't an issue."

There were problems, however, related to construction, demolition and the transfer of various public facilities, Nimmano said. A plan to accelerate the construction is to be unveiled in March.

OSHA: REMOTE CAMERAS COULD ENHANCE JOBSITE SAFETY
OSHA's Recommended Practices for Safety and Health Programs, released in fall 2016, recommends measures such as the use of remote cameras on heavy equipment such as cranes to monitor activity and, in turn, enhance workplace safety. Chris Machut of Netarus, a company that offers the HoistCamTM remote-camera system, says that, although he knows of no elevator companies that are implementing the technology yet, it could be useful in that it would "allow the crane operator to see inside an elevator shaft during construction." Netarus' systems are used all over the country, particularly in high-rise construction.
