CORONAVIRUS INDUSTRY UPDATE
ELEVATOR WORLD (EW) has been the vertical-transportation industry’s source for news and information for 67 years, and we aim to continue to be during the coronavirus pandemic affecting readers, advertisers, employees, contributors and associates around the world. With magazines in the U.S., India, the Middle East, Turkey, Europe and the U.K. and a strong online presence, EW has a wide reach. We will share your company news as often as it comes in, so please send it to us at email. Current updates include:
- Smartrise Engineering, Inc., headquartered in Irving, Texas, is focusing on remote, virtual training to help maintain the health and safety of employees and customers during the pandemic. New customers can now learn about their Smartrise controllers either via phone or a webinar hosted by a member of the company’s technical support team.
- Public Safety Canada (PSC), part of the Canadian federal government, has added elevator and escalator mechanics to its list of essential service providers. The move follows a request by the Canadian Elevator Contractors Association (CECA), and CECA Executive Director Catharine Bothwell said the verbiage was added to PSC’s “Guidance on Essential Services and Functions in Canada During the COVID-19 Pandemic.”
