August 10, 2022 Recovery and The Gospel - Interview w/ Nick from Sharpen Recovery and Jessica Gobble - Ep. 51
In Elijah Rising's experience doing intervention and restorative care, we have found that many of the women we've encountered have a drug or alcohol addiction in addition to being trafficked. We realized we needed to be able to serve women in recovery from addiction well, so we now have a Recovery Coordinator, Jessica Gobble. In this episode, Jessica and Nick Long, the Founder and Executive Director of Sharpen Recovery, talk to us about the connections between recovery and the redemptive power of the Gospel.

You will also learn more about Emergency Assessment Centers, what they are and why we need them in Houston.

Jeff Shaw Executive Director with Frontline Response, a Christian-based non-profit headquartered in the heart of Atlanta, serves on the frontlines every day rescuing men and women out of sex trafficking and homelessness and preventing vulnerable children from falling victim.

May 16, 2022 The Asian Sex Trafficking Market & Organized Crime - Interview w/ Youngbee Dale - Ep. 47
A study in Houston made the claim that there are more brothels than Starbucks and McDonalds. That statement always grabs people's attention, but an important detail is often left out. Most of the women exploited in these brothels are Asian migrants or vulnerable Asian-Americans. Not only are these women victims of the sex trade, but they also experience manipulation in the form of debt bondage and loan sharking. Youngbee Dale has experience working in South Korea as well as serving as an expert witness in Asian trafficking cases. Her insights will help you better understand the complex network of organized crime that is unique to the asian sex trade.
