In Part 3 of the Tyre Nichol’s series, Eliseo and Jared delved into the issue of how young men in society today lack discipline due to having a lack of male role models. They discussed how the book Lord of the Flies exemplified what can happen when those without supervision are left to their own devices. They pressed the importance of parental discipline but made sure to encourage respect rather than physical abuse.

In today’s society, it is important to teach appropriate behavior to children. Without the proper guidance, children are left to their own devices and can easily resort to animalistic instincts. Unfortunately, many children are growing up in single-parent households without a father figure to teach them how to behave. 

It is important for parents to teach their children how to act in a respectful manner. Parents have the right to discipline their children to a point that does not cause child abuse. It is also important for parents to set a good example for their children. If parents are not exhibiting appropriate behavior, then their children will not learn how to behave properly. 

By teaching children how to behave properly, we can create a more respectful and peaceful society.

Eliseo Medina is a Senior Intelligence Police Officer of the Metropolitan Police Department of the District of Columbia, with over 30 years of experience in law enforcement. He was born in the Dominican Republic and raised in Puerto Rico, where his family had ties to the police department and military.
