A Nightmare on Elm Street 3 is beloved for many reasons, one being its cast of characters. Sent to a psychiatric hospital, these teenagers are troubled. Dealing with Freddy Krueger has left them to fend for themselves. However, in their dreams they no longer are they limited by their everyday struggles. When they unite, they become the Dream Warriors.

One among them is Will Stanton. Despite his physical limitations, Will truly believes that he is the Wizard Master and can do anything in his dreams.

The imagery and effects of the A Nightmare on Elm Street films are mystifying and iconic. Bringing the dream world to life in the 80s required resourcefulness, talent, and apparently a lot of "committees." Production designer and art director, Mick Strawn, has been the creative force in everything we have come to know and love about the Elm Street universe. From the Freddy snake to the junk yard of death, tongue-tied Joey, Alice & Dan's crash into nothingness, and more, the most cherished visuals in A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors and A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master are courtesy of the brilliant Mick Strawn. Not only has he influenced the films, but he has also worked on the Dokken "Dream Warriors" video, the video for "Are You Ready for Freddy?" by the Fat Boys, and Freddy's Nightmares. Even beyond Springwood, Mick has an impressive resume.Our hosts Diandra and Paige discuss the sets, effects, and creative elements of the Nightmare films with Mick. His stories are filled with great information and hilarious anecdotes. Let's just say, the Clorox bottle is forever a part of Elm Street history.

The start of the A Nightmare on Elm Street phenomenon began with Amanda Wyss. In a homage Janet Leigh, Tina seemed to be the heroine, but was tragically the first on-screen victim of Freddy Krueger.

Although gone too soon, Tina left a great impression with audiences and Amanda continues to dazzle with her acting today. In this episode, hosts Diandra and Paige talk with Amanda about female filmmakers, acting, inspiration, and more.

Dream Warriors is arguably the fan favorite A Nightmare on Elm Street film, but have you read the early script by Wes Craven and Bruce Wagner? It is very different, but still with some similarities and even a few potential influences on the later films in the franchise. The script is very dark and worth checking out. Freddy Krueger is an icon of not only horror, but also cinema. His popularity has spawned an array of sequels, books, comics, TV shows, and fan films. His story is interesting and it's one of the many reasons his character has remained a cinematic staple for over 30 years.
