In this episode of the Emajin Podcast Beyond the 19th, we are delighted to welcome Emajin member, keynote speaker and leading scientist John Mattick.

John is a Professor of RNA Biology at the University of NSW.  He was the CEO of Genomics England and Director of the Garvan Institute of Medical Research. John’s accolades are extensive, and he is well known for his academic and teaching career, and he has taught at Cambridge and Oxford.

What he is really famous for is that he has pioneered a new view of genetic programming of humans and has done some groundbreaking research on non-coded or junk DNA. He has earned an Order of Australia in 2001 for his service to scientific research and the scientific community.

Although he initially embarked on his career in the luxury travel industry, skillfully negotiating deals with hotels, Jason was never the person behind the lens capturing the picturesque moments for Instagram. 

It was his passion for Bali that started him on the journey and kindled his passion to create an Instagram page, with the goal of inspiring people to explore and experience the beauty of Bali. Jason also shares his insights on the immense value of networking and gives us his tips on how to contribute value within these connections.
