The beloved poet Mary Oliver said: My work is loving the world. We’ll take that as our intention today and let this short practice of simple movement and meditation be a love letter – a Valentine – to the world. We’ll start by stimulating the space around your physical heart, freeing any congestion or tightness in your chest, shoulders, and upper back. Then we’ll allow the resulting openness and ease to settle into your body with some quiet meditation, letting the feeling to extend, ripple by ripple, out into the world.

This practice is quiet and still. Deeply nourishing and restful. It’s especially for those of you who have asked for support around the fatigue and strain of Long Covid. I hope it will also benefit anyone recovering from illness, navigating a chronic condition, or simply feeling exhausted. It combines a guided relaxation for your whole system with a gentle intention you can draw on—like a mantra—anytime.

Today’s free Embodied Meditation gives you just that. It requires no movement other than your breath and the gentle path of your awareness, tracing yourself awake, from your feet to your head. Spend the first 11 minutes of your day awakening in this luxuriously meditative way.
Today’s free Embodied Meditation—a short 7-Minute Reset—invites you to slowly welcome the New Year. We’ll gently move and breathe our way toward a posture and a mindset that’s relaxed, receptive, and open hearted.
Winter Solstice, the still point when the natural world sinks into quiet hibernation and deep rest. Today’s Embodied Meditation honors this time with our annual practice of slow, calming movement, following the energy down and in, and finishing with a candle-gazing meditation to tune into the ancient ritual of tending a gentle light during this darkest time of year.

One of the clearest and most direct ways to practice gratitude is to pay attention to the sensory experience of your body—to notice and honor the subtle sensations of simply being alive and in relationship with the world around you. In today’s Embodied Meditation, we’ll do that by moving gently and simply through a pared down, seated version of a Sun Salutation. This staple of yoga movement practices was designed to bring us into our bodies and into a state of gratitude. Our version today is one that’s accessible anywhere you can find a comfortable seat, so it’s perfect for inserting a dose of gratitude and soothing movement into any part of your day.

Today’s Embodied Meditation is a 10-minute seated practice that helps you squeeze, wring out, and release physical tension from head to toe. As a bonus, you might find your mind following right along, getting clearer and calmer as you go.

Feel you’re juggling way too much, way too fast, without a moment to catch your breath, much less pause and reflect? Today’s Embodied Meditation carves out a tiny pocket of time to help you Slow. Down. We’ll shift the pace in just a few minutes, starting by slowing your breath, then linking it with meditative movement so you can reset your speed to a rhythm that’s more soothing and sustainable.
