The reality is: we have all had experiences that showed up as disappointments because we had expectations that went unmet. Typically what happens when we have disappointment is we create these lines in the sand to try to protect ourselves. We create boundaries, and if we don't deal with the disappointment, we can begin to fester and do not allow ourselves to forgive.
We have to be willing to take the journey to our own safe place. We've gotta go through the healing process so that we can arrive and be able to build the life that we love, with confidence, and truly knowing that we deserve it, regardless of what has happened.
