In January of 2020 the Peculiar Fire protection district in Missouri responded to house on fire in a rural area. The fire was possibly in the laundry room of the home with heavy contents conditions. A series of unfortunate events occurred that resulted in the death of a 30yr old firefighter.

In December of 2009 the small St. Anna Fire department of Wisconsin, responded to a dumpster fire at a local business. This was not your ordinary dumpster fire and it killed one firefighter and injured others. To learn more, please take a listen.

This tragic incident that resulted in the deaths of three FDNY firefighters trapped in a hallway flow path, in a wind driven fire was a significant event in the fire service. As a result of this incident and other similar one's subsequent scientific research on fire behavior changed the way we fire fires today.

In the evening of November 2. 2012 Chicago firefighters were called to a smoke in the area call that resulted in the loss of life of a veteran Chicago Firefighter, due to a rapid fire progression event. Listen to learn more from the NIOSH report.
