Continuing with last week's theme of love for God and love for neighbor, guest speaker Rev. John Watkin helps us consider the questions, "Who is our neighbor." Preaching from Luke chapter 10, we are encouraged to love even in the most unexpected places.
Speaking on The Greatest Commandment, guest speaker Pastor John Watkin shows that to Love is to Worship and to Worship is to Love, with six specific ways that we can Love God through our Worship.
Teaching from Romans chapter 10, Pastor Daniel Pape reminds us that the Good News of Jesus is for all people, in all places, at all times. He shares about his experiences on the mission field and inspires us to participate in the work of God however he inspires us.
How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!” Romans 10:14-15
Church matters because it provides us the opportunity to participate in communal practices that form us as the people of God — and because it is communal we have an opportunity to put our formation into practice — allowing us to learn to live and love one another well in the name of God.
Church matters because we need a community in which we can explore the implications of the Gospel announcement that, “Jesus is Lord.”
