There was only one source of information we could find about Dr. Stuart, and that was from Wikipedia. We stumbled on Dr. Stuart in our research on Mary Bird (1859-1914) who was a missionary in Persia. Dr. Emmeline Stuart was the female doctor who was sent to relieve Mary of her medical responsibilities. Dr. Stuart was committed to the cause of the gospel. Though she was a skilled surgeon and doctor, her first concern was for the spiritual well-being of the women in Persia. Though the information on Dr. Emmeline Stuart is scant, what we learned is both inspiring and stunning.
