Emo Kids Anonymous

Welcome to EKA 116! Today we are joined by Wayne Snow of Howling At The Earth for a wide ranging conversation that covers a little bit of everything. From anime to Coheed and Cambria to his local community, Wayne was an open book and we had one of the more intelligent conversations in EKA history. We discuss his emo origins, the pandemic, sick wolf blankets and so much more. Wayne is an incredibly talented and introspective individual, one of West Virginia's finest if you ask me. Go check him out at howlingearthmusic.com!

Welcome to EKA115! Today we are joined by a highly requested guest, Dear Maryanne, Freddy and the fellas have been putting in work the last few years and it's been beautiful to see this band grow from the outside but getting to chat with them and learn about their backstory made me fall in love with Dear Maryanne even more. In this interview (conducted from their tour van outside of Mike from Summerbruise's house) we talk about their upcoming tour, their emo origins, as well as their upcoming EP coming out on March 3rd. The Massachusetts trio will be on the road this spring on a jam packed tour featuring support from some friends of our show like Dear Cincinnati, Pretty Bitter, Cheem and more. We discuss those bands, plus others like Kerosene Heights and TRSH along with their favorite records of 2025 as well as their future plans. Have a great tour, see you boys at the LA date!

Welcome to EKA113! This is a very special one, our first live and in person interview and we couldn't have asked for a better first guest in Gabe Saporta! Influential artist, fashion icon, entrepreneur, Gabe has done it all and he was cool enough to discuss it all with us. From Humble Beginnings to Midtown to Cobra Starship to Brotege and everything in between. Where did Gabe learn how to sing? Who would play him in a Pete Wentz biopic? What happened to Midtown? Why did he start Brotege? We uncover the answers to all of this and then some!

subscribe to stay up to date, and thank you to Gabe and everyone at Brotege & Tag Music for making this happen!

Welcome to EKA 112! Today I am joined by Quartz Morrigan aka Quincy Motorola aka Taylor Swift Band aka Madison James of Ogbert The Nerd, No Good With Secrets, Shutty and so many more projects and ventures. We talk about quite literally everything. From the very beginning when Madison was macking on premade meatwiches I knew this was gonna be a great time. We discuss DIY, emo and everything else. We get into New Jersey legends from Frank Iero to Bruce Springsteen to Jack Antanoff, plus we even get into some personal lore. Madison issues a rare apology to the lesbian community and nobody else (that includes you, stereogum). This felt less like an interview and more like a platonic first date with someone you should have been friends with for a decade already, as you can probably tell by the length of this one. Enjoy!

Welcome to EKA 111! Today we are joined by Canadian duo PONY. Sam and Matty are a couple of good ol' Canadian kids with a serious AOTY contender dropping in a couple of days (Clearly Cursed out Feb 13 via Take This To Heart Records), and we were lucky enough to be joined by them to talk about everything under the northern sun. Detroit Pistons, Rick Campanelli, we covered it all.

Sam told us the tale of the tarot card reader who warned her of a dark spirit she is carrying and how she deals with it (heavy, right?). They walked us through the writing process for the new record, including some surprises. Janet Jackson, Sheryl Crow. PONY know ball fr fr. Our PONY pals also explained the concept of the Canadian vocal flip that all of your favorite Canadian pop stars do. Avril, Alanis, Shania, even the Barenaked Ladies do it! Be sure to go check out their new album this Friday, seriously. If we did an EKA version of Oprah's book club, Clearly Cursed would be our pick of the month.

Welcome to EKA110! Today we are joined by canadian pop punk princess LØLØ! With a string of shows on this summers Vans Warped Tour and a new album dropping in April, LØLØ had a lot to fill us in on. We talk canadian roots and TV shows, her growth as an artist and embracing the sad girl stuff. Much to the chagrin of her PR team I'm sure, we also discuss the grooming storylines from Canadian TV show Instant Star as well as whether or not anyone has ever cooked meth while listening to LØLØ. Of course, we also discussed her new album "God Forbid a Girl Spits Out Her Feelings", out April 17th.

Welcome to EKA 109! Today we're joined by Jason Call of Daphne Loves Derby. If you grew up in the early 2000s and you were the 2000s equivalent of terminally online, you knew about Daphne Loves Derby. Formed in Kent, Washington by three pals, Daphne were the first band to ever hit a million plays on PureVolume. This led to them getting signed by Trevor Pryce of the Denver Broncos (WTF?) while they were still teenagers. Jason tells me the whole story plus why he left the band and what we can expect when it comes to a possible DLD reunion. Kenny and Stu are currently inactive in music but fellas, if you're reading this people do miss you! Along with all of that, we also talk about PNW emo from that era. Bands like Emery, Acceptance, This Providence, Forgive Durden and most notably, Gatsby's American Dream. We talk about what makes Casey Bates such an incredible producer, as well as regular old parent stuff that two dudes in their late 30's would discuss. Thanks for joining me Jason, you're a class act!

Welcome to EKA 108! On todays classic Wednesday one on one with Robb and Amanda, the gang discusses the major current events of the music world. That's right, we're talking about The Grammys, The Super Bowl halftime show and the Vans Warped Tour lineup reveal Are the grammys irrelevant? Should we be stoked that Turnstile won some awards? Or is this a broken clock being right twice in a day? With the Super Bowl this weekend, all eyes are on our boy Bad Bunny, so we dive into past halftime shows and the history. We discuss our favorites, least favorites and the absolutely bizarre. And of course, we also talked about the first few days of announcements regarding the 2026 Warped Tour lineup. Is all this nostalgia a good thing? A step in the right direction or the contrary? What would a couple of millennial emo kids talk about if not the Vans Warped Tour? Either way, their takes will surprise you! Also, we'd like to formally announce the first ever EKA x Brotege giveaway. To enter for your chance to win a 3 month supply of Brotege and two shirts, be sure to go follow EKA and Brotege on TT or IG and then tag two people in the comments of the giveaway video. While you're there, leave us a weird or funny comment because while there is two winners, only one winner will be randomly drawn. The other winner will be the comment that makes Amanda, Robb and Gabe laugh the hardest. What are you waiting for? Go enter!______________________________________________________________With multiple new episodes every week, Emo Kids Anonymous is your home for all things emo and everything else. Welcome to EKA107! Today we are joined by Thanks! I Hate It from Hollister, CA, but they are midwesternites at heart. With appearances at both Stoop Fest and XLNC this year, these California kids sure have an affinity for the flyover states and we discuss it at length. We also dive into the bands origin story, some bandmembers family infidelity, the current state of america and so much more. Oh yeah, we also discuss the writing and recording of their most recent release, 2025 LP Scatterbrain, released on Take This To Heart records. With song titles like "The Butterfly Tattoo Effect", "The Ultimate Worrier" and "Tonights The Night You Fight Your Dad", you knew this band was gonna be a great time and we were not disappointed.
