For the uninitiated, Gunk Lung is an Iowa emo band and Dr. Dew is a social media platform artist who creates a wide range of content but we share a mutual love for mountain dew. First up, Gunk Lunk gives us the rundown on the state of the band, the local DIY scene, their favorite Alkaline Trio records, and what we can expect from them going forward. Then at about the halfway mark we are joined by social media sensation Dr. Dew to discuss his life, career, content and obsession with Mountain Dew. Also, we do a Dew challenge with the doctor. Welcome to EKA 145! Today we are joined once again by Nishat Ahmed, aka Nish from seminal lakeshore emo band tenmonthsummer! If you've been following our show since the beginning, you remember Nish from one of our earliest episodes! Since then, Nish has been a near and dear friend of the show so when word got out about a new tenmo EP, we had to run it back! In this interview Nish and I dive into the state of the world, the state of diy emo, and the state of our own lives. Their new EP "Your Name Is My Ocean" comes out on May 15th and Nish and I dive into the evolution of the band from fate lines til now. Political unrest, financial instability, the world is an ugly place but the magic of tenmo is finding the beauty in the ugliness around us. Don't worry though, it's not all serious! We also yap about other bands in our scene, play a round of Chili's FMK, we even explore the recent workplace allegations against Tenmo Corp (Charlie consents to the cage).

In all seriousness, this band and these people are very near and dear to our heart. We yearn for tenmo. My only regret from this intervew is that Amanda wasn't there. We love tenmonthsummer!
