It’s the evening of April 20th and Nivedh and Sara have completely forgotten the topic they planned for today’s episode, but thankfully they have Taylor to remind them, kind of. They did however remember to record their first-ever sponsored segment, and can’t wait to take their earnings to a local Coinstar kiosk.
On this particular episode Nivedh is extra emotional, Sara is extra amused, and Taylor is moderately impatient. Together, they tackle the question of, “do you stay in contact with your exes?” And then overthink their responses. As usual, Nivedh and Sara express fairly opposite opinions, but find common ground through relatable stories and general pacifism.
Today is also the episode on which Emotionally Available welcomes its first guest, due to Nivedh’s jam-band accountant friend, Mitch, showing up to the house unannounced in the middle of recording; as if it’s the year 1935. Doesn’t he have something better to do, like balance Phish’s checkbook? While Mitch’s surprise presence shifts the power dynamic and throws the EA team a bit off their game, they’re ultimately grateful for his uncensored input. But not grateful enough to consider having another guest any time soon.
