Liz Kleinrock is an anti-bias educator and consultant based in Los Angeles, California. A transracial adoptee, Liz was born in South Korea and grew up in Washington, DC. Liz is a teacher who is known for being passionate about social justice, identity, race, and privilege. 

She is also a published author with Teaching Tolerance, and her work has gained national recognition through a documentary produced by Fluid Film, and media outlets such as CNN, The Washington Post, NPR, and The Huffington Post. Liz recently did a very successful Ted Talk about teaching kids to talk about taboo topics, and today she is here to share with us her teaching journey and to elaborate more on teaching kids about subjects that are difficult or uncomfortable to talk about for most of us. "I am passionate about making an environment where kids love to learn" Liz cried.

Perla Oyervides is a Mexican American Teacher who was born and raised at the border. Shortly after she graduated from college, she was presented with the opportunity to go out and start her career somewhere else, but she decided to stay to serve the community that saw her grow. 

She is here to talk about her journey. About what it was like to be raised at the border and to attend to public education in her town. Listen to this episode, to get to know what it really is like to teach at the border. Perla is here to show you, that her community is way more than what you and I see on the news. 

"When I close my eyes, I see my family, home, friends.  I don't see what they are showing on tv: drugs, weapons, people crossing over.  We are much more than just a border that people are trying to cross over" Perla explains.  

Gary Gray is an International Teacher from Nova Scotia who is currently based in Singapore. He is very passionate about encouraging other teachers to be culturally responsive in the classroom.
