Hello Dear Readers!
I ignored my presence for many years, always thinking that I would succeed if I just pushed harder, worked longer, or showed up like the guys around me.
Little did I realize that I had bought into a system designed by men for men to succeed. Women who tried to join the club were not encouraged (or allowed into the inner sanctum), no matter how hard we tried or how good we were.
I finally woke up to the fact that I was just as powerful and accomplished as any man, but I had to do it my way.
I grew tired of feeling like the “other,” the person on the outside, the one who was left out. No matter what I did, no matter what course or training I took, I still did not succeed.
For one simple reason — it was on their terms, not mine.
How I found My Own Source of Presence
I finally looked long and hard in the mirror and saw a person with potential, infinite possibilities, and abundance. The problem was that I used the outside world as the measuring stick instead of following my internal guidance.
I stumbled on meditation by accident. I was attending a personal growth workshop and the teacher announced that we would meditate for 20 minutes of silence. When the teacher began the meditation, my mind went crazy with judgment, such as “This won’t work,” “I can’t sit here for 20 minutes doing nothing!” I could have stood up and left the room, but it would have been too obvious that I was not into “that kind of stuff.”
So I sat there. And felt my body slowly relax as my breathing became deeper. My mind stopped resisting, and I felt a sense of peace and calm that I had not experienced in a long time.
I knew there was so much more to meditation, and I began a daily practice, which has reoriented my perception of my value, worth, and place in the world. I also began to journal daily and these practices clarified my purpose.
All from spending 15–20 minutes sitting quietly, allowing my body, mind, and emotions to still.
What this Means for You
I am sharing my journey because you may have fallen into the trap of searching outside yourself for validation and approval. It’s a natural tendency to accept the standards someone else sets because they seem to know more than you do.
It’s just not true.
Imagine me standing in front of you right now. We are facing each other, looking into each other’s eyes. You glance away because a wave of doubt or shame has washed over you. I gently touch your arm to pull you back, and we look deeply into each other’s eyes.
What you see will astound you and chase all doubt and fear away.
You will see yourself reflected in my eyes. You will feel the connection and the unity of being human and sharing the same essence. And you will know, perhaps for the first time, that you belong. Right here, right now.
When you spend time connecting to the unseen, you will sense a deep essence that enlivens everything. That essence is also in you, waiting for you to see it, embrace it, and begin to express it as your presence.
Your essence is your wealth. — Rumi
Step into Your Presence
That tangible sense of belonging and essence is waiting for you for you to express it as your presence.
Have you ever met someone who is different from other people? Just by being in the same room or watching them speak, you know that they are coming from a different source of life.
I call it moving from Divine essence to individual presence.
I found it through daily meditation and journaling. I carry a sense of peace throughout my day, and I can return to it when I allow a disturbance to affect me.
It’s almost like carrying a magical wand that only you hold.
I have tried several different meditation apps and have discovered that Insight Timer works for me. It has more than 200,000 free meditations! My favorite teachers include Sarah Blondin (she’s amazing) and Davidji. But find your own favorites (and follow me on the app!).
Now is the Time
Now is always the best time to start.
You find peace, not by rearranging the circumstances of your life, but by realizing who you are at the deepest level. — Eckhart Tolle
You are the only person who can step into your own presence. Meditation is a way to dive deeper into the essence of you.
To your presence,
Kathryn
Hello Empowered Wayers:
I love to tell stories to teach, illustrate, and educate. This short story is fiction, but the lessons taught about Reality Creation apply to all of us. Please leave a comment at the end and share your favorite bit of the story.
I was sitting at the counter, waiting for my table. It’s fairly empty, but people are trickling in.
A young woman in her late 20’s walks in with her head down, a frown on her face. She’s dressed in athletic wear and her light brown hair is pulled back into a ponytail. She marches up to the counter, and the barista greets her.
“Hey Holly! How’s it…”
He stops in mid-sentence, because he noticed her frown and downbeat energy. His voice tone changes instantly as he asks gently, “Bad class?”
Holly sighs as she sits down, elbows on the counter, hands holding her head. “I was supposed to have 20 students in my yoga class at 3:00 today, but only 2 showed up.”
“Man, that’s tough. Do you want a double expresso?”
“Yea—that would be great. I need a pick me up after that horrible showing.” Holly sighs and mutters to herself, “How am I going to make rent this month?”
I couldn’t help myself. I asked her, “What if your students weren’t the source of your income?”
She reared back in surprise. “That’s crazy—of course they are!” Her energy became even more erratic as she recoiled emotionally, mentally, and physically from me.
I laughed and waved my hands in surrender. “Sorry—I didn’t mean to upset you. I know you’ve had a hard day.”
Just then, the barista brought her drink, which she cupped in her hands.
We sat silently for a few heartbeats, and then she turned to me. I looked at her calmly, waiting for the next question that always came from someone struggling with money.
“What other source of money is there?”
I smiled at her and gestured to one of the empty tables. “Why don’t we move over here for a few minutes?”
After we settled, I asked her, “You’re probably hungry–does your blood sugar get low?”
Holly laughed and said, “You know, I might be hungry. I didn’t notice because I was so upset about the low attendance.”
“Great! Let’s share an appetizer and talk. It might just change your perspective.”
She nodded and looked down, her thoughts returning to the stack of bills waiting to be paid.
I sat up straight in my chair as I pulled a notepad from my purse. “Let me show you how you see the world.”
She looked up, startled at such an idea, but her expression had changed from despair to intrigue.
What I drew looked like this:
“We think we will get what we want. But wanting something means you don’t have it.”
She nodded and smiled. “I can see that. I wanted more students to show up today, because I didn’t have them.”
“Exactly!” I pointed to the wavy lines at the bottom. “Everyone has access to the same Source Energy. It doesn’t matter who you are, where you grew up, or your skin color.”
“Okay…” she said, mostly to herself.
“Now, imagine Source Energy passing through your consciousness. How would you describe your energy or state of being when you first came in here?”
She laughed and said, “Full of doubt and fear.”
I flipped the sheet over and drew this on the paper.
“When the Source Energy moves through a consciousness filled with limiting beliefs, doubts, and fears, what is created?”
“Chaos,” she said with conviction.
I looked at her to emphasize my next point. “You don’t get what you want. You get who you are in that moment.”
“So the energy I am in the moment is what it will create in physical reality?”
“Yes, if it is held consistently. But if you feel good, then bad, then good, your results will reflect that as well.”
I pulled out a third sheet of paper and drew this:
“Are you starting to glimpse how you create your reality?”
She nodded thoughtfully. “When I am negative and upset, it changes Source Energy. When I am abundant and grateful, it does the same.” She paused as she thought about what she just said. “Wow!”
I smiled at her enthusiasm. “Experiment with this idea that the quality of your consciousness filters and shapes Source Energy.”
Holly kept staring at the three diagrams. “Can it be that easy?”
I laughed as I picked up one of the appetizers. “It’s as easy as ordering and enjoying this delicious food.”
“I’m not so sure.” She looked down at her hands and sighed. “I keep bumping up against walls and I can’t seem to find a way around.”
I nodded. “Look at the second diagram—the one full of fear. You described the physical results as ‘chaotic.’ Can you see that your thoughts and beliefs based on fear changed Source Energy?”
She thought about it for a moment. “Does that mean that Source Energy is neutral until we say it isn’t?”
I laughed as I said, a bit too loudly, “Bravo! You have just completed Reality of Creation 101.”
“What do you mean?”
“All species create with Source Energy. It’s neutral and infinitely available.” I paused to make sure she was following my logic. “But only humans decide to create intentionally or unconsciously.”
She shook her head and started gathering her things. “I will have to think about this,” she mumbled as she turned to go.
I stood up too. “When you know you are in fear, shift your focus to gratitude. When you doubt whether you are in the right field, shift your energy to love and abundance.” I paused and moved to hug her. I whispered in her ear, “Only you can decide who you are in the moment.”
She pulled away from me and looked me in the eye, deeply. “Thank you,” she breathed.
As she moved toward the door, she turned around and asked, “How can I learn more about this?”
“It’s called Empowered Way. Go to my website and let’s keep talking.”
She smiled and stepped out onto the street. I returned to the table and enjoyed the rest of the food.
As I paid the check, I thought to myself, “Thank you, Universe, for giving me an opportunity to show another person how they can change their life.”

Hello Empowered Wayers!
This might be controversial, but wealth isn't about money.
* It isn't your bank account.
* It isn't your tax bracket.
* Wealth isn't your income potential or your degree.
We have taken the concept of wealth and narrowed it to money.
One day, I was curious and looked up the origins of the word, "wealth." I was stunned by what I discovered.
The word "wealth" comes from an Old English word, "wele" or “weal.” In it's original form, "wele" meant "well-being."
Think about that for a moment. When you are “wealthy” in the original sense of the word, what does that mean?
What does “wealth” really mean?
Well-being includes all aspects of your life:
👉🏻 mental
👉🏻 physical
👉🏻 emotional
👉🏻 spiritual
It's so much more than money. It's about balance and alignment with yourself, your energy, and the Universe.
When you focus on building wealth as well-being, you tap into a beautiful, creative energy. Think of it as "wealth energy."
When you tap into this infinite supply of creative energy, your life changes instantly.
Welergy is the secret to a meaningful life
Wealth energy comes from an infinite source. It is always available and can be used to create the life of your imagination.
I call it "welergy."
As you use welergy to experience being wealthy, your well-being is guaranteed. Wealth becomes your internal state of well-being. As your inside world shifts and connects to welergy, notice how your external world shifts.
As you step into welergy, you begin to experience:
⚡ life defined by you;
☮️ presence and mindfulness; and
☀️ awareness of your role on planet Earth.
Won't you join me in expanding the definition of wealth?
Bring your attention and intention to your well-being. Begin each day with gratitude. Meditate. Journal. Read spiritual books.
Live from welergy and notice your relationship to money pivot. You will no longer measure your value by your bank accounts.
Deep down, you know that you will never be satisfied in a world that defines wealth externally.
Instead, focus on your well-being, using welergy to guide you. That’s why it’s called Empowered Way :-)
Blessings,
Kathryn

Hello Empowered Wayers!
About 800 years ago, the Sufi Poet, Rumi, began writing about love, loss, and life. His poetry is timeless and speaks to the common thread of humanity across time and space.
Another place that also speaks to the common thread of humanity is the gothic masterpiece, Notre Dame de Chartres Cathedral, located in Chartres, France. The current building was finished in 1260, about the same period that Rumi was creating beautiful poetry.
Is that a coincidence? Or a confluence of energy that materialized in poetry and architecture?
Sacred and Holy Ground
The location of the Cathedral is known as an ancient, holy site for the Druids and Celts. Ancient texts indicate a pagan sanctuary dedicated to a young woman who was to give birth. For Christians, this story predicts the Virgin Mary giving birth to Jesus.
A church has stood on this ground since at least the sixth century. An altar dedicated to Mary has been identified as from that era. Earlier buildings were destroyed by fire or invaders and the current masterpiece of Gothic architecture was built on the foundation of its predecessors.
There are many layers of meaning embodied in the Cathedral. On the surface, it is a monument to Mary, Jesus, and the Christian Story. Statues of prophets, angels, and saints adorn the portals and exterior. The collection of 12th and 13th century stain glass portrays the Old Testament and New Testament in brilliant colors and shapes. In fact, inside the Cathedral, sunlight is only filtered through the stained glass.
The physical presence of the Cathedral is massive. The two spires the surround the West Portal can be seen for miles and provided a beacon for pilgrims traveling long distances. The interior feels infinitely spacious because the vaulted ceiling is 120 feet (12 stories) above the ground.
The designers and builders of the Cathedral also included older, per-Christian elements. The stone labyrinth in the nave is the most obvious.
The Chartres Labyrinth
A labyrinth is an ancient symbol of wholeness. The imagery of the circle and spiral combine into a meandering but purposeful journey. The labyrinth represents a journey or path to our own center and back again out into the world.
The Chartres labyrinth stretches 240 feet across and it sits between the West Portal (the main entrance) and the altar. Before the Church covered it with chairs, worshipers would walk the labyrinth as a meditative and preparatory practice before moving deeper into the church.
Study the design of the labyrinth. You will see that there is only one way in and out. The path inward reaches the six petal center, where God is said to reside.
As Kathleen McGowan describes so beautifully in her book, “The Source of Miracles,” the labyrinth was created “as a prayer tool, a path that could be walked while praying, toward a center where God awaits.”
This ancient prayer tool directs you to the center, “where God awaits.” Rumi’s poetry has the same impact, only with beautiful words and images that invoke sacred union with God.
The Story of Rumi
Rumi was a Sufi poet who lived in the 12 Century. He was also Muslim and gay, in a culture that abhorred homosexual behavior. As you can imagine, he never felt as if he belonged.
He longed for true love. He finally found it in his early 40s, even though he was married with children. Rumi left his family for his new love, but it didn’t last long. His lover was murdered and Rumi became lost.
Why had he found the one thing in his life that he longed for, only to have it taken away?
To move through his grief, Rumi began to write poems. His writing helped him find faith, trust love again, and feel peaceful. As he continued writing, Rumi discovered a deeper love with himself.
His great insight was that the love he gave to his lover was always in him. He didn’t need the other person to feel that same love for himself. And from that love, Rumi wrote timeless words that still ring true today.
Imagine the Chartres Cathedral Speaking This Poem to You
I recently returned from a trip to Chartres. I was there for a workshop called, “Holding Space for the Sacred,” given by Lauren Artress and Judith Tripp from Veriditas. We spent many hours in the Cathedral and experienced a private walk of the labyrinth.
To say that my time in Chartres was life changing is an understatement.
When I returned home, I discovered the following poem by Rumi. It felt as if the Cathedral was speaking to me from across the miles. It’s incredible that both the Cathedral and this poem were written in the same time period.
Please read it slowly, as if a higher power was speaking from the first person (“I”).
I have come to drag you out of your selfand take you into my heart.
I have come to bring out the beautyyou never knew you hadand lift you like a prayer to the sky.
If no one recognizes you, I dobecause you are my life and soul.
Don’t run away, accept your wounds andlet bravery be your shield.
It takes a thousand stagesfor the perfect being to evolve.
Every step of the way I will walk with youand never leave you stranded.
Imagine having a relationship like this. Imagine that you are held and loved, no matter what your past or your weaknesses.
Imagine finding God at your center.
Thank you for reading and sharing. I am an independent writer, supported by readers like you. Your comments, likes and shares are my payment.

Hello Beautiful Wayers!
When I was in middle school, I rode the bus everyday. In Texas, school started in August and the buses didn’t have air conditioning. By the time we arrived at school, everyone was hot, cranky, and ready to move inside to cool off.
Except for my nemesis - Becky.
She took great delight in tormenting me about my nerdy glasses, my frizzy hair, and my crooked teeth. I dreaded riding on the bus because of her, because it was so painful.
One day, on the ride home, I found a note in my backpack. It was from Becky and it quoted a popular song by the Steeler Wheelers.
“Clowns to the left of me, jokers to the right. Here I am, stuck in the middle with you.”
Shame flooded my body and my world shrank to the words on the paper. As soon as the bus stopped, I jumped off and ran home. It wasn’t until I reached the safety of my bedroom that the floodgate opened.
Everything Becky had ever said to me, taunted me, or bullied me came flooding back. The emotional pain was excruciating and I began hitting my pillow to release it. I actually believed those cruel words and felt as if my world was ending.
It was only after the storm passed that I sat up and looked at the note again.
I noticed something that my eyes had skipped over.
The note was not addressed to me. It was written to Becky’s best friend, Nicole.
Becky had put the note in the wrong backpack!
I started laughing at her mistake, and it made me realize that Becky wasn’t the perfect person she tried so hard to present.
* She was human and imperfect, just like me.
* She was in emotional pain, just like me.
* She struggled to be liked and accepted, just like me.
Becky felt ashamed about herself but instead of withdrawing as I did, she acted out and became aggressive and verbally abusive. The feelings of unworthiness and shame were the same as mine, but expressed differently.
Women Become Shame
I am sharing this incident with you, because I know you have probably experienced something similar.
Why? Because that what women do. We are trained to think of others before ourselves. We tend to create our self-image comes from the outside.
Researchers have discovered that women and girls turn challenges into shame-based experiences 80% more than men.
Think back on your own life and look at past experiences from a neutral lens. How did you respond to the event? What meaning did you make of it and how did it relate to you? As you consider the choices you made in the moment, what were the consequences?
From your observer lens, notice if you grew and learned from the experience, or did you contract and shrink?
When shame-based meanings are made, women tend to anchor in “fixed mindsets” that disconnect them from the other parts of themselves are that are powerful, creative, and resourceful.
Living from a fixed mindset is like living inside a prison. All you see are the bars on the window, not the space in-between. Creativity and problem-solving disappear and despair, hopelessness, and fear take their place.
It’s not a pretty place to be. But that’s not all women do to themselves.
Women Tend to Underestimate Themselves and Their Capabilities
Research has found that women tend to underestimate themselves more than men. For example, when a new position opens, men will apply even if they only have 2 out of ten skills necessary for the job. Women don’t apply unless they have all ten skills.
The tendency to underestimate skills leads to a lack of confidence and perfection standard. When you wait until everything is perfect, you will wait forever.
Women also defer to authority instead of insisting on their own truth. Research has also shown that women have a more difficult time than men in recognizing their strengths and talents. It’s almost as if women create an “inner glass ceiling.”
The beliefs you hold about yourself, your abilities, and your power impact who you show up as in the world. Instead of drawing from your inner strengths, powers, and intuition, you become stuck and fixed.
How Women Can Move Forward
When you consider that women:
* turn obstacles into shame-based meaning about her value;
* tend to underestimate their abilities and want things to be perfect;
* defer to authority figures instead of listening to their own truth;
It becomes clear why women struggle in today’s world. But it doesn’t have to be this way.
It’s only when women can identify what lies beneath their fixed self-image that change occurs. It’s like unraveling the tangled mess of Christmas lights to find the power cord. Once it’s plugged into the wall outlet, the power surges through the straightened cord and lights up.
The core story about yourself shifts and you gain a new perspective. Your appreciation for your strengths and abilities heightens and you step into a greater role of influence. Instead of playing small and bumping into the inner glass ceiling, you soar above the world and reach greater heights than you ever imagined was possible.
The shift from fixed mindset to growth happens with coaching. You can’t do it by yourself, because you don’t have the objective perspective that a coach uses.
I am a woman-centered coach. If you struggle with wealth or money issues, please reach out and get on my calendar.
The beautiful wave of energy that women create when they step into their authentic power will heal the world.
Blessings,
Kathryn
Hello Empowered Wayers!
The difference between the almost right word and the right word
is the difference between the lightning bug and lightning. - Mark Twain
Word choice is the craft of the writer and storyteller. But how do you know which word to use when?
It helps to know the etymology or the study of the origin of words. I know that when I began my Wealth Coaching business, I became interested in etymology when I discovered the original meaning of “wealth.” It turned my practice into a passion instead of a way to pay the bills.
The word “wealth” derives from the Old English word, “weal,” which meant well-being. What is well-being? To me, it means when the five areas of my life are balanced. When my mental, emotional, physical, spiritual, and financial aspects are in sync and energized, I am wealthy because I experience well-being.
More examples of why the origin of words matter
Have you ever noticed that you can remember a word or phrase much longer if you attach it to a context? When you learn the history or orginal of the word, it provides a context that makes the word much easier to remember.
For example, do you know what a Hobson’s choice means? You will after reading the story behind the name.
Thomas Hobson owned a livery stable in seventeenth-century England. He loved his horses, and to prevent any one horse from being overworked, he hired them out in turn, beginning with stall number one. Customers had to take the horses they were given. Thus, Hobson's choice means no choice at all.
Why is Indiana called the “Hoosier” state? When the state was first being settled, the pioneers were fairly rough in their manners. When someone knocked at the front door, the settler would call out, "Who's yere?"
Homonyms: When Sound Deceives Meaning
Context is also important when choosing the correct word in written communication. When the writer mistakes one word for another because they both sound the same, it signals a lack of attention to detail.
A homonym are words that sound alike but have different meanings. For example, “there” and “their” sound identical but when misplaced, create a negative impression of your language skills.
The word “knew” and “new” sound identical but have two different meanings. If you used the word “new” when you should have chosen “knew,” your reader will quickly decide to move on.
Spaces and Letter Arrangement: Shaping Perspectives
It's not just the sound or context that plays tricks on our understanding; even the arrangement of letters and the inclusion or exclusion of spaces can transform meaning dramatically.
The transition from "impossible" to "I'm possible" is a classic example. A mere apostrophe and space turn a word that denotes inability into a motivational statement of potential. Such transformations highlight the dynamism of language and its potential to shape our mindset and perspectives.
Another captivating example is "nowhere" and "now here." The former implies the absence of a specific place or direction, whereas the latter emphasizes presence and immediacy. Isn’t it amazing how the mere addition of a space can shift the essence of a word?
The Takeaway
Please share any examples of using words correctly and in the proper context. Have you come across a funny story about why a place is named?
As writers and storytellers, our work is elevated when we are careful with our words. When we know the background or story behind the word, it gives us a deeper level to communicate our message.
Blessings,
Kathryn
Hello Empowered Wayers!
Being present and aware of yourself is always available, but the distractions of our lives cause amnesia.
When you are ensnared in the worries of your world, you forget who you really are.
When all of your thoughts focus on perceived problems and worry is your constant companion, amnesia takes over. Your attention is directed outside of yourself, and your intention is to solve the dilemna.
That focused attention and intention on an external threat or painful situation creates your world. Everything becomes one dimensional and your power to create is used to solve and survive.
Spiritual amnesia is the result.
How can you find your way out of the maze? Through breathwork, meditation, and a physical tool that is ancient and mysterious.
Breathwork is Always Available
When I practiced law, my stress level was off the chart. I was caught in worry, anxiety, and I always felt that a castrophe was about to happen. There was so much I couldn’t control that impacted the results, but no matter how much I worred or stressed, it didn’t help.
Until I discovered mindfulness and meditation.
I learned that I lived constantly in flight or fight mode. My anxiety caused my body to stay in overdrive and I woke up bone tired. As I began to understand intellectually what I was doing to myself, I also leaned more into my heart and soul through breathwork and guided meditation.
Box breathing was a life saver. When you take a long, slow deep breath in and hold it for four seconds, then release slowly to the count of four, imagine you are tracing the upward and horizontal lines of a box. As your slowly exhale, count to four and trace down. Hold the exhale for the count of four and trace the bottom of the box, back to the beginning.
Notice how much calmer you are. When your mind focused on this simple exercise, you interrupt the flight or fight pattern and give your body a chance to return to normal. Use this technique any time you begin to feel anxious or worried.
It’s a simple technique that reduces stress, calms your nervous system, and allows you to return to your attention to the problems at hand. Instead of looking at the situation through fear, breathwork brings you back to your higher thinking. From there, a path forward emerges.
Begin a Meditation Practice and Watch your Life Shift
I became a certified Meditation and Mindfulness Teacher in 2018. I started a daily practice of meditating and jornaling long before that year, but I realized I wanted to help others create their own practices.
I began creating meditations and publishing them on Insight Timer, one of the best apps for free and paid meditations. You can find me on the site (and please follow me!)
As you begin to meditate, you will discover an amazing fact. Inside of you is a space of stillness and calm. During meditation, as you let go of your thoughts, you sink deeper into this place of stillness. Your sense of anxiety and worry slides away as you go deeper into yourself.
It’s as if you have sunk beneath the chaos of the ocean’s surface, and found the calm stillness underneath.
When you experience that first moment of pure peace, everything changes. You realize that you can bring this sense of well-being to the surface of your life. Using breathwork to stay centered, you discover that you are a different person. All because you took the time to become yourself.
Explore the thousands of teachers on Insight Timer. Follow the ones who resonate with you. It’s a vast playground of spirituality, Christianity, Buddhism, etc. As you explore every day, you will soon create a library of your favorite meditations. Return to them during the day when fear or anxiety strike. It’s almost as if you have a super power you can activate in times of stress.
Remember who you are - a spiritual being living as a human. It changes everything. That’s why it’s called Empowered Way.

Hello Empowered Wayers -
I have met so many wonderful writers and spiritual seekers. As I reveal my journey to others, it attracts like-minded people. And the deeper connections are made.
That happened with Cheryl Carina, the author of Lotus Empress.
I followed her newsletter and she followed mine. We began commenting and reposting each other’s content, and that’s when I knew we had to connect.
This conversation is the result.
Listen with an open heart. Allow the energy of our words to resonate and rejuvenate your own energy.
During this conversation, I felt seen and heard by Cheryl. She told me after we turned off the recording that she felt the same.
That’s why it’s called Empowered Way. Because you empower another when you see and hear them. And you see yourself as them.
The mantra I use to see another and hear them is:
Please take a moment and support Cheryl. She is on fire to become a coach and healer. As you encourage her, you are also encouraging yourself, because giving and receiving are the same energy.
Thank you for being part of Empowered Way. I see you :-)
Blessings,
Kathryn
P.S. If you would like to appear on the Empowered Way podcast, please reach out and let’s talk. You can find me on Instagram and Linked In.
Hello Empowered Wayers!
I came across this quote while looking for something else. As soon as I read it, my heart leaped in recognition and I paused, feeling the truth of the words.
Do you feel that truth?
Repeat the words to yourself and notice any feeling of familiarity. Notice if you nod your head or get quiet for a moment. Those are signs of soul recognition.
Remember when…
Remember when you were a small child, everything was magical. Discovery and curiosity lead you to touch the hot stove, or create stories with your dolls and tea set.
Your thinking mind and ego were not yet in control, and you followed your impulses to see what was on the other side.
Life was filled with laughter, joy, and hopefully, love.
Now that…
Now that you are an adult, where did that carefree child go?
He or she is still there, but you can’t hear them because your mind and ego have taken over.
Take a deep breath now, hold it for a second, then slowly release.
You can touch that inner child and listen to her. What is she curious about? What triggers her interest and delight?
Take a few moments and write down the answers that came up. Follow those answers and continue to ask for more.
The meaning of your life comes from the questions you ask. Instead of asking, “What’s in it for me?” ask yourself, “What moves me in this moment?”
Your life is the answer.
Blessings,
Kathryn
Hello Empowered Wayers!
I am a Women’s Wealth Coach and Financial Planner. I chose this career path to help women, because of my own experiences in wealth building and financial planning.
My finances weren’t pretty. Even though I made a great living from practicing law, I never seemed to have enough. There was always another bill to pay or vacation to plan.
We were living the high life of advanced consumerism.
But there was a dark side. When my husband left his job, it was up to me to keep the ship afloat. Holes sprang up and we began to take on water. It was only after we took a hard look at our spending habits and changed direction that it felt manageable.
It took time, discipline, and mindfulness, but we righted the ship. Credit card balances were paid down, savings increased, and we actually began investing in real estate.
Looking back, the shift came when we decided that enough was enough. The way we were living wasn’t sustainable and things had to change.
What I find fascinating is that my husband moved through a different process of change than I did. He focused on action - make more money, follow a budget, set financial goals. I focused on transforming my shame and guilt to empowerment, an internal process. We both arrived at the same place of peaceful financial planning, but came from different orientations.
Women Experience Different Financial Challenges Than Men
I have coached women from across all financial levels. A few were well-off, but most of my clients struggled with invisible money issues.
As we worked through the Empowered Money Map process, they began to recognize limiting beliefs or old traumas that were holding them back. Through a combination of meditation, journaling, and visualization, they all discovered a new relationship to money and wealth.
Of course, every person’s experience with money is unique to them.
Women tend to internalize their mistakes and failures. Research studies show that when both men and women are faced with perceived failure, men tend to externalize the cause. Women turn within and blame themselves.
The result for women can be devastating. Repeated patterns of emotional spending, followed by shame and guilt. An internal decision to change, but getting triggered again and repeating the same pattern. It isn’t until you become aware of your hidden beliefs of unworthiness, feeling unlovable, or lacking knowledge that changes become permanent.
Coaching is the most effective way to address and transform the limiting beliefs that sabotage your best intentions. When coaching is combined with education about how money works, you are free to create an action plan to take advantage of your new found knowledge.
Financial Education is Also Important
When I was struggling with money, the last thing I wanted to do was read and learn about how money worked. I was so entrenched in my emotional turmoil that I couldn’t see the benefit of learning.
A friend suggested that I read Tony Robbins’ book, “Money: Master the Game,” that a light bulb came on. While I was uncovering my hidden beliefs, I could also learn more about the financial world and take steps to increase our financial future.
The combination of mindfulness, education, and action
is the key to transforming financial futures.
It can be the key for you too.
