God calls us all to a ministry of compassion. This morning our devotional comes from 2 Cor. 1:3-4 and challenges us to pick up our cross and walk the road of the compassionate.

Proverb 21:3: This proverb nails a repeated theme of the Bible about fake religious practices. The sacrificial offerings were God-designed to bring Atonement to sinners. But what if you offered the sacrifices but did not come to the altar with an exposed (truthful humility) and a willing heart? This is when religion is fake and relationship with God is missing.

A lesson from 1 Thess. 5:8 that I did not get to share on Sunday.

One of the big reminders of Proverbs and scripture in general, is that we humans have the capacity to deceive ourselves about the integrity of our lives. We see ourselves too favorably and partially. We can see the flaws in others but not in ourselves. This is a big warning of scripture and Proverbs 21:2.

Worship is designed to usher into the presence of God. This morning we will reflect on Joshua 1:8 and Col. 3:15-16.

Do you know what the word "catholic" means? Sunday's message included that definition and hopefully made some less hesitant to say this line from the Apostle's Creed.

Prov. 20:12 This proverb states that the LORD has given humans perceptive abilities that are not merely sensory, but also psychological and spiritual perceptive gifts. Yet not everyone has ears to hear and eyes to see.

Who doesn’t love to get in there and do some good old conflict resolution?
Everybody! Well not everybody but we all know it isn’t easy but vital. Did you know it was so vital that Jesus commands that we do it. It is an act of our devotion to him and the church.
