Empowering People

You and I are formed by spirit and truth. We become more like Christ as we grow in relationship and as we understand the reality that God has made. Join Eric this morning as we look at John 4:23-24 and how we are shaped by these two factors. Jesus modeled this perfectly and he gives us a template for doing the same.

This coming Sunday Marty will teach from Psalm 42, a Psalm of Lament.

The story of Jonah is a seemingly simple children's story, but still has great truth for us today. Join Meghan Ford this morning as we look at this story and draw out some fresh insights.

Another Proverb this morning. Look at 17:1, it's a "better-than" proverb that addresses two dinner tables. One table of people has a feast, the other has dry bread. Which one is better than the other?

We are currently in a sermon series looking at a variety of different Psalms. This Sunday will dial in on Psalm 100. This is a Royal Psalm giving us insight into the relationship between the King and the Lord. Join us this morning in our devotional as we prepare ourselves for this upcoming Sunday.

Peter is challenging the believers in the Galatia region to live BOLDLY for Christ by using their TIME, TREASURE, and TALENT wisely. To be a people dedicated to PRAYER which moves them to ACTION. Go beyond creature comforts and EMBRACE THE UNKNOWN. Be HOSPITABLE to the stranger who is lost and in need. To LOVE your ENEMY. To Make the Gospel to known utilizing YOUR unique gifts and talents. In essence, Peter is calling the people to STEWARD well over the resources GOD has PROVIDED.

This morning, Eric will be finishing his series looking at five transformative values to root us in the way of Jesus, leaning on the book: The Deeply Formed Life by Rich Villodas. We'll be focusing on Part 5 which looks at missional presence. It's the idea that we are called to be with the world and for the world as God's presence is with us and God is for the world.

See Proverbs 16:32 for a "better-than" proverb. Preference is given to someone who is a patient person over a rash passionate warrior.
