    Here’s the thing: trying to force things to happen with ego and impatience rarely ends well. Trust me, I’ve been there. It’s like trying to fit a square peg into a round hole – exhausting and ultimately futile. But not to worry, we are fully equipped, just like the figure on the Strength card to tame our inner lion with grace and strength.

    Strength isn’t just about flexing our muscles or bulldozing through obstacles. Catch yourself in the act and interrupt the behavior by shushing yourself. The beauty about shushing yourself is two fold: first you’re redirecting your mind and energy forging new patterns, and second, it’s hilarious to do and you instantly change your vibe from pissed to blissed!

    In a society that glorifies constant productivity and external validation, the idea of spending time alone can seem daunting or even counterintuitive. However, it is precisely in these moments of solitude that we are able to peel back the layers of illusion and access our authentic truth.

    Welcome back! Today marks day 11 and the half-way point of our transformative journey through the 22 Day Psychic Cleanse. Today’s topic is the inevitability of change and the invaluable lesson of remaining flexible like water in life.

    Change—it’s a word that can evoke a mix of emotions, from excitement to fear. Yet, one thing is certain: change is constant, like the ebb and flow of the tides or the turning of the seasons. It’s the very essence of life itself, and resisting it is like trying to swim against a powerful current. You’ll only exhaust yourself.

    In our quest for spiritual growth, it’s crucial to understand that being too rigid and inflexible can hinder our progress. Picture this: you’re holding onto a person, place or situation for dear life, afraid to let go and flow with the river of change. Meanwhile, the universe is whispering guidance, nudging you towards your true path, but you’re too fixated on control to hear it.

    What is your true path? Is it fate or destiny? I would say no. Your true path is comprised of your inner desires and longings. You may have put them on hold for a myriad of reasons, typically rooted in fear, but they persist at the level of spirit… and that’s what you’re broadcasting to the universe and THAT is what the universe is responding to.

    I frequently say, “Spirit always wins.” So, if you’re bucking against your true path and blocking the way, spirit will find ways to help you receive your true desires in wanted and unwanted ways. So, it really is essential to proactively embrace change, be flexible like water, and go with the flow.

    Wheel of Fortune

    This is where the wisdom of the Wheel of Fortune card in the Tarot deck comes into play. The Wheel reminds us that life is cyclical, filled with ups and downs, twists and turns. One moment you’re riding high on the crest of good fortune, and the next, you’re plummeting into the depths of despair. But here’s the deal: no matter where you are on the wheel, change is inevitable. It’s how you respond to it that matters.

    Think of the Wheel of Fortune as a cosmic compass, guiding us through the ever-changing landscape of our lives. When we remain open and receptive to its guidance, we allow ourselves to flow with the currents of life, rather than fighting against them. It’s about surrendering to the natural rhythm and seasons of life and trusting that everything happens for a reason and that there is a conspiracy happening for your ultimate wellbeing.

    But receptivity isn’t just about sitting back and waiting for good fortune to fall into your lap. It’s an active process that requires mindfulness and intention. It’s about tuning in to the subtle whispers of the universe, whether through meditation, prayer, or simply being present in the moment. When we cultivate this receptivity, we create space for miracles to unfold and blessings to abound.

    Now, imagine yourself as the leaf, surrendering to the flow of life and embracing change with an open heart. Trust the current and feel a sense of freedom and liberation as you let go of any resistance and allow yourself to be carried forward by the current.

    Rushing through life without clarity or a plan from higher guidance can leave us feeling scattered, overwhelmed, and disconnected from our inner knowing. It’s like trying to navigate a dense forest without a map or compass—we might stumble around aimlessly, unsure of which path to take.

    The Hanged Man

    That’s where the wisdom of the Hanged Man card in the Tarot deck comes in. Picture this: a figure suspended upside-down, calmly observing the world from a different perspective. Notice the glowing halo of light around his head. It’s like a beacon of new insights, awareness, and enlightenment, just waiting to blossom and grow!

    This card embodies patience, faith, and serenity—the qualities we need to cultivate as we wait for clarity to emerge.

    Patience is about trusting that the answers we seek will reveal themselves in their own time. It’s about surrendering the urge to force things to happen and instead allowing the universe to unfold as it should. Think of it as planting seeds in a garden and trusting that with time, sunlight, and water, they will eventually blossom into beautiful flowers.

    Faith is about believing in something greater than ourselves—a higher power, the universe, or simply the wisdom of our own intuition. It’s then and only then that you move your feet. That’s when you’re free to take aligned action, and that feels so much more stable and sure-footed!

    So, my friends, as we journey through Day 13 of the psychic cleanse, let’s remember to embrace the pause. Let’s take a deep breath, release the need to rush or control, and trust that the clarity we seek will come when the time is right. Remember, it’s not about doing more, but about surrendering into the stillness and allowing ourselves to be guided by the wisdom that resides within.

Make it 20 minutes if you have it. Do a whole lot of nothing. Nap, rest, gaze or meditate if that’s easy for you. Let your mind and body come into a state of rest and receptivity.

  • Day 14: Beginnings & Endings

    Welcome back to the 22-Day Psychic Cleanse, where we embark on a journey through the mystical realms of the Tarot and beyond. Today, we’re delving into the potent energies of transformation and closure, guided by the profound symbolism of the Death card. Often feared and misunderstood, this card is actually one of the most positive and enlightening in the deck.

    After our introspective pause with The Hanged Man, we now encounter Death, signaling the end of a significant chapter in our lives. But fear not. Death is not a bringer of doom but rather a messenger of freedom, rebirth and renewal.

    “Letting go gives us freedom, and freedom is the only condition for happiness. If, in our heart, we still cling to anything – anger, anxiety, or possessions – we cannot be free.”

    In the Tarot, Death represents the closing of one door to make way for another, the shedding of old skin to reveal the radiant essence beneath. It’s a cosmic call to release what no longer serves us, to bid farewell to outdated beliefs, relationships, resentments, or bad habits that weigh us down.

    But let’s face it – letting go isn’t always easy. We humans have a knack for clinging to the familiar, even when it’s clear that it’s time to move on. The problem of holding onto the past can manifest in various ways – clinging to past hurts, staying in stagnant situations out of fear of the unknown, or simply resisting change because it’s uncomfortable.

    Death

    Yet, the Death card teaches us that in order to grow, we must first let go. Like the phoenix rising from the ashes, we can only experience true transformation once we release our grip on the past. It’s about surrendering to the natural cycle of life, trusting that what lies ahead is infinitely more beautiful and fulfilling than what we leave behind.

    Resistance to this necessary ending can lead to pain – both emotional and physical. Just as a tree must shed its old leaves to make way for new growth, we too must shed our attachments to the past to embrace the fullness of our potential.

    Vacuum Law

    But here’s the beautiful paradox – in the midst of death, there is life. The universal vacuum law states that in the space created by letting go, we invite new opportunities, relationships, and experiences to blossom. By exercising our imagination and visualizing a new possibility, we pave the way for constructive patterns to emerge, guiding us towards our highest good.

    I remember watching “The Shift,” a docudrama by Wayne Dyer. It begins with him saying, “At the morning what was true, in the evening will become a lie.” What resonates with me about this quote is the subtle notion that what once worked for us served its purpose, but may not do so anymore. There’s no need for regret; instead, we simply acknowledge our evolution and recognize the need to adapt mentally and spiritually as a consequence.

    So, as we journey through Day 14 of our psychic cleanse, let’s embrace the transformative power of Death. Let’s honor the endings in our lives as sacred rites of passage, knowing that each goodbye opens the door to a brighter, more expansive future.

    Think of a situation where you had an all or nothing approach, for example being torn between working a regular job and running your own business or any situation where you were stuck between a “this or that” decision. Now see yourself as the angel in the Temperance card. You have one foot in the water (intuition) and one foot on the land (logic) and you’re blending the two things to create something new… and it’s working! You soon realize that there’s enough space for both things to exist simultaneously.

  • Day 16: Slaying Dragons

    Welcome back to day 16 of the 22-Day Psychic Cleanse! As we venture deeper into the Hero’s Journey, today we’re delving into the realm of dependencies and addictions, shining a light on these often shadowy corners of our lives before they cast a long shadow over our spiritual growth.

    Picture this: you’re navigating life’s winding roads, and suddenly you find yourself at a crossroads. You notice that little voice inside your head urging you to indulge in that one habit, that one substance, or perhaps even that one person who seems to offer solace from life’s challenges. But wait, before you take that detour, let’s hit the brakes and take a closer look at what’s really going on.

    The Devil

    Enter the Devil card in the Tarot. Now, before you panic, let’s demystify this infamous card. In Tarot, the Devil doesn’t represent some external evil force out to get you. Instead, it symbolizes the chains we willingly bind ourselves with – those habits, dependencies, materialism, and addictions that keep us shackled, preventing us from reaching our fullest potential.

    One common manifestation of these chains is found in codependent relationships. You know the type – where you lose yourself in trying to fix, rescue, or please someone else, often at the expense of your own well-being. It’s like being tangled in a web of toxic energy, where boundaries blur, and self-care takes a backseat.

    But here’s the thing: awareness is our greatest ally in breaking free from these chains. By shining a light on our dependencies and addictions, we reclaim our power to choose differently. It’s about acknowledging that while these habits may offer temporary relief, they ultimately hinder our spiritual growth and block our path to true fulfillment.

    Observing The Devil card, the couple in chains can simply (maybe not easily) remove the loose chains that are around their necks and start to reverse their animalistic tendencies and raw instincts before completely crossing over to the dark side. Notice their budding horns and beastly tails. They can continue feeding their shadow selves by over-indulging in worldly pleasures, or they can break free.

    When The Devil shows up in a reading for a client, my first question is, “How is your spiritual life?” Because I know that it’s out of balance and can use some attention.

    “Addiction begins with the hope that something ‘out there’ can instantly fill up the emptiness inside.”

    Think about it like this: every time we succumb to our addictions, we’re feeding the beast within. We’re perpetuating a cycle of spiritual erosion, where our inner light dims a little more with each indulgence. But fear not, for every chain that binds us also holds the key to our liberation.

    Slaying Dragons

    So, how do we break free? It starts with a willingness to face our shadows head-on, to confront the underlying fears and insecurities that drive our addictive behaviors. It’s about seeking support, whether through therapy, support groups, or trusted friends who can walk alongside us on this journey of self-discovery.

    And as we gradually loosen the grip of our dependencies, we create space for something greater to emerge – a newfound sense of inner strength, resilience, and self-love. We reclaim our sovereignty, standing tall as the architects of our own destiny.

    So, as we continue our journey through the 22-Day Psychic Cleanse, let’s embrace the wisdom of The Devil card. Let’s honor the shadows as integral parts of ourselves, knowing that it’s through acknowledging and transcending them that we step into the fullness of our being.

    Remember, you are not defined by your dependencies or addictions. You are a radiant soul, capable of transcending any obstacle in your path.

    Cleansing Exercise 🚿 

    Are there things in your house, cupboards, fridge, or secret stashes that keep an addiction or dependency alive and stocked? If so, remove those items. As you do that, you lessen the temptation. My rule of thumb is NOT to keep those things in my house. Then when a craving hits, you’ll have to make an effort to go out and get them, which places your awareness on your behavior and the opportunity to do something else.

    Journal Prompt 📝 

    Reflect on a habit or dependency that you feel may be hindering your spiritual growth. Write about how this habit makes you feel and the ways in which it may be impacting your life. Then, explore the underlying fears or insecurities that might be driving this behavior. Finally, consider one small step you can take today to begin breaking free from this pattern and reclaiming your power.

    See yourself addiction free or free from a co-dependent relationship. Imagine how you look and how you feel. What’s different? What’s going on around you?

  • Day 17: Shaking the Tree with The Tower

    Welcome back to the 22 Day Psychic Cleanse. Today, we’re diving deep into the turbulent waters of universal wake-up calls, where chaos reigns supreme, and change is the only constant. Buckle up, because Day 17 is all about confronting The Tower card in the Tarot and understanding the importance of stable foundations in our lives.

    As the Hero’s Journey continues, we inevitably find ourselves in the thick of turbulent forces that bring us to our knees, especially if we ignore the budding issues brought forth in The Devil card. Today’s lesson is not to frighten you, but to acknowledge that our human condition is a tapestry of light and shadow, growth and challenge. It’s through facing these challenges head-on that we discover our true strength and resilience.

    Just like the hero of a grand adventure (think Luke Skywalker or Dorothy of Oz), we must confront our inner demons and navigate the treacherous terrain of change. It’s in these moments of chaos and destruction that we have the opportunity to rise, to shed our old skin, and emerge stronger and wiser than before.

    The Tower

    First things first, let’s talk about The Tower card. For those unfamiliar, it’s depicted as a tall tower struck by lightning, with people falling from its heights. It’s a powerful symbol of sudden upheaval, destruction of old structures, and the need to rebuild from the ground up. Sounds intense, right? But fear not, because The Tower brings with it the promise of renewal and growth, albeit through turbulent means.

    Now, let’s zoom out and look at the bigger picture. Universal wake-up calls are like cosmic alarms reminding us that change is not only inevitable but necessary for our personal and collective evolution. These wake-up calls can manifest in various forms – from major life events like loss, upheaval, or unexpected challenges to global crises that shake the very foundations of society.

    Just when you think you’re safe and comfortable, a Tower moment hits and throws you for a loop. A lightning bolt of clarity and insight cuts through the lies and illusions you have been telling yourself, and now the truth comes to light. It may be a divorce, the death of a loved one, financial failure, health problems, a natural disaster, job loss, or any event that shakes you to your core, affecting you spiritually, mentally, and physically. There’s no escaping it. Change is here to break things up and rearrange them (but trust me, it’s for your Highest Good).

    Shaking the Tree

    I often remind my clients that when The Tower shows up in their readings, it’s like the universe is shaking their tree, clearing out all the nuts that are in the way and blocking growth and progress. It’s a necessary upheaval, a cosmic wake-up call that propels us forward on our journey of self-discovery and evolution.

    Sure, it can be unsettling to watch everything we’ve built come crashing down around us. But trust me, it has to happen. Just like a gardener prunes a plant to encourage new growth, the universe shakes things up to remove what no longer serves us, making room for fresh opportunities and experiences that need to happen to fulfill your innermost dreams and desires. See, the universe is responding to the deeper part of you and knows the best path to get you where you really want to be.

    Here’s the thing: when we build our lives on unstable or ambiguous foundations, we’re setting ourselves up for a Tower moment. Just like a poorly constructed tower, our lives can come crashing down when faced with the storms of life. Whether it’s neglecting our mental and emotional well-being, ignoring warning signs in relationships, taking shortcuts, or prioritizing material gain over spiritual growth, as yesterday’s Devil card demonstrated, shaky foundations leave us vulnerable to collapse.

    The best way forward is to let this structure self-destruct so you can rebuild and re-focus. And let’s be real – with a card like The Tower, you have no choice but to surrender to the destruction and chaos, no matter how unwanted or painful. Change on this deep level is hard, but you need to trust that life is happening FOR you, not TO you, and this is all for a reason. This destruction will allow new growth to emerge, and your soul can evolve.

    So, what’s the solution? It’s all about cultivating resilience and embracing change as an opportunity for growth. Instead of resisting the chaos, we can choose to flow with it, trusting that it’s clearing the path for something greater to emerge. This doesn’t mean passively accepting whatever life throws at us, but rather actively engaging with the process of transformation.

    One way to do this is by anchoring ourselves in stable foundations – values, principles, and practices that ground us amidst the storms, and most of all, having a clear vision for our lives so the responsive universe delivers with clarity instead of ambiguity. Whether it’s meditation, mindfulness, spiritual beliefs, or supportive relationships, these anchors provide stability and guidance when the world around us seems to be crumbling.

    Moreover, the Tower reminds us of the impermanence of material wealth and superficial success. True abundance does not lie in external possessions but in the richness of our inner world – love, joy, connection, and purpose. By shifting our focus from the fleeting to the eternal, we can weather any storm with grace and resilience.

    So, as we navigate Day 17 of our psychic cleanse, let’s embrace the chaos as a catalyst for growth, rebuild our lives on solid foundations, and welcome the transformative power of The Tower. Remember, in the midst of destruction lie the seeds of rebirth. And when we get to the other side of the chaos intact, we can understand that just like Dorothy, we had the power all along.

    Cleansing Exercise 🚿

    Tomorrow morning, upon waking up, instead of bolting out of bed and stumbling headfirst into the day, take 5 minutes to center yourself. You can do this sitting up in bed. Greet the morning, check in with yourself, and imagine how you’d like to experience the day. Notice I didn’t say how you think the day will go, but rather how you’d like to experience the day. Pave the way and roll out the red carpet before setting foot on the ground.

    Once centered, stand tall, give it a stretch, and walk firmly into your day.

    Think back to a time in your life when you experienced a significant upheaval or unexpected change – a “Tower moment.” It could be a personal crisis, a major life transition, or a challenging situation that forced you to confront uncomfortable truths.

    1. Describe the event or situation that you consider to be a “Tower moment” in your life. What were the circumstances surrounding it? How did it make you feel?
    2. Reflect on your initial reaction to the upheaval. Did you resist the change, or did you embrace it? How did you cope with the chaos and uncertainty?
    3. Consider the lessons you learned from this experience. Did the upheaval ultimately lead to growth, transformation, or newfound clarity? How did it shape your perspective on life and yourself?
