In Mere Spirituality, Henri Nouwen wrote, "A spiritual life without discipline is impossible. The spiritual life demands a discipline of the heart to assist us to let God into our hearts and become known to us there, in the deepest recesses of our own being." In what specific area of your life do you need discipline for your spiritual life?

In what ways are you leading as a disciple?

Read Psalm John 16:33 and John 14:25-27. What is God’s Word saying to you in this verse? What is God’s heart for His people?

Discuss the difference of definitions between the world’s peace and God’s peace.

In what ways does Jesus invite us into peace? How does Jesus care for our hearts and souls?

What opportunities does Jesus give us for peace? How does He provide peace in the midst of the chaos?

Have everyone share… what is the most NON-peaceful thing in your life right now? How and why does it stress you out? And what would it look like if you allowed God’s peace to rule in that situation?

Read Philippians 4:6-8. These verses are a perfect formula for God’s peace in your life. Which things in these verses are you NOT doing, and how can you change that?

Have someone in your group close in prayer asking God to pour out His peace in every situation for your group members.

What areas of life do you feel stuck in? How are those areas frustrating, disappointing, and/or discouraging? What do you think God would want you to do in that particular situation?

What are you aiming for in life? Have everyone in your group go around and fill in this blank: “The 3 most important goals I have in life right now are ____________.”

How can God’s Word and a consistent prayer life help you discover your gifts, calling, and passions?

Who is someone in your life that you can ask advice from that will point you to Jesus? And if you don’t have anyone, who could it be?
