Love Where You Are with Somer Colbert

Encouragement for the Carline Mom with Caris Snider

Listen Later

Welcome to the Love Where You Are podcast!

Today I am excited to welcome my friend Caris Snider back to the show!

Caris Snider is a Christian Communicator who shares the hope of God through speaking, and leading worship. She is the author of multiple books including her latest release, Carline Mom Devotional. Her desire is to help women of all ages with their faith and mental health journey.

It's back-to-school time and you know what that means...lots of time in the carline!

In this episode, Caris and I talk about life as a "carline mom."

Back to school season can be quite the marathon. Life is so busy with meet-the-teacher, last minute supply runs and getting back into a routine as we get our kids to school and extracurricular activities.

In all the busyness, how can we as Christian moms lean into the Lord to keep us going and serving our families with joy?

In this conversation Caris give tools to find the sacred moments in the busy and the mundane, practical ways to pause throughout the day and keep God's voice loudest in your heart and mind.

Thank you for being here today.

Now, let's dive into the conversation!

FAVORITE TAKE-AWAYS:

-God meets you wherever you are, in any minute or moment you have, in the coming and going.

-Sacred moments are limitless because God is limitless.

-We should focus on where we are right NOW instead of thinking about where we wish we were, whether that's thinking about the future or other wishful circumstances. Often we long for the next phase of life and miss the joys of where God has us presently.

REMEMBER:

-Reject thoughts that destroy your worth. We constantly play the comparison game and that is not what God wants for us! We are created in His image and doing the work He calls us to do, we don't need to be anyone else.

-Rest is NOT laziness! We, especially as moms, need to learn how rest is a form of worship and honoring to God! He gave us the Sabbath for a reason!

-Who's voice is the loudest in your life? We need to slow down and listen for God's voice, and we can learn to hear what He sounds like by spending time with Him in prayer and in His word.
