The final legislative session of 2024 wrapped up last week at the State Capitol, which included some progress and drama. Lawmakers sent bills to the governor on some of California's biggest issues from retail theft to artificial intelligence. A new, independent study says that wildfire evacuations from the Lake Tahoe Basin could take between 9-14 hours, especially if one of the few routes out of the area is blocked.
