Just imagine how your interactions with people would change if you thought, “I represent Jesus to this person. The Lord Jesus Christ is alive in me”, how would that change what you said to them? How would that change the tone in how you said those things.  Not just interacting with other people, but how would that change what you think about when you’re by yourself and nobody else is paying attention to your thoughts?

How often do you think about the promises to Abraham? Now, I know that if you were to ask me that before I thought about this podcast, the answer probably would be “well, I think about it every once in a while. You know, when I hear a class on it or when I’m doing a study about the promises to Abraham. Or maybe, you know, when I’m talking to somebody about first principles, I’ll talk to them about the promises and how we can be included in that”. But as far as how often do I just, you know, sit down and think “wow, I think I’m going to think about the promises to Abraham” that doesn’t happen all that often. And yet, I want to just share something with you here…

God is the one who gives blessings, God is the one who has the ability to give blessings. You know, how can we bless Him? What can we bring to Him? What can we do that makes God feel blessed?

Half full or half empty? You’ve probably heard someone talk about that before, you know, you lift the glass of water and you ask yourself “well how do I see this?”… do I see it half empty or half full? …Scripture presents us with an entirely new saying!

I think the word “therefore” in the King James Version brings out more of what is going on here, because “so” is just easy to pass over, but “therefore” makes it very clear that John is explaining Jesus’ actions to us. He’s not just saying “well Jesus loved them and he waited” he’s saying “well Jesus waited because he loved them”.

Jesus was telling his disciples that his parables divided the audience into two groups. The group who understood and the group who didn’t. The group whose eyes could see and the group who couldn’t.

Paul longed to see the brethren at Rome, he sees them as his family.  Even though he hadn’t yet met them, and wouldn’t meet them for another ten years – he saw them as his family. 

We can’t allow the fact that we haven’t seen each other to cause us to forget that we are a family.  How often are you thinking about and praying about the people in your ecclesia? 

“But when Jesus heard it he said, This illness does not lead to death. It is for the glory of God, so that the Son of God may be glorified through it.”
