Carlos Alazraqui is an actor, voice actor and comedian who has leant his talent to such projects as Family Guy, Monsters University, Cow and Chicken, Spongebob Squarepants, I Am Weasel, The Fairly OddParents, Jane The Virgin, Lizze McGuire, Even Stevens, CSI, and, his most notable role, Reno 911. He is appearing in the new live-action horror film Strange Nature, which was released on September 22.

It’s another show all about dance! Esie Mensah is an award-winning dancer and choreographer who has worked Rihanna, Drake, French Montana among others, as well with Luminato and TIFF. From Sept 27-30 she is debuting a new work at the Factory Theatre – Shades – which looks at colourism in the black community.

Toronto’s Fall For Dance Festival runs from October 2-6 at the Sony Centre and Ryerson Theatre. Nicole Brooks is the creator and composer and Prime Guerra is the choreographer of Obeah Opera, a re-telling of the the Salem Witch Trials as seen through the eyes of Caribbean Slave Women living at that time. Starring an all female cast, Obeah Opera goes on stage October 5th and 6th.

Sandra Laronde is the Artistic and Executive Director of Red Sky, a leading, contemporary voice of indigenous art, theatre and dance. Through Red Sky, Sandra is one of the choreographers of Adizokan, “a genre-defying contemporary creation featuring Indigenous dance, vocals, electro and orchestral music – performed live by the Toronto Youth Symphony Orchestra.” It runs October 3 and 4th at FFDN.

Endeavours goes to TIFF. Many films are making their premiere at Canada’s largest film festival. Two such projects are Les Salopes or The Naturally Wanton Pleasure of Skin, from Quebec writer-director Renee Beaulieu, and Stupid Young Heart, which comes to us from Finland.

Renee stopped by to chat about sexually explicit and erotic works of art, and from Stupid Young Heart, cast members Jere Risteppa and Rosa Honkonen as well Oscar-nominated writer Kirsikka Saari and director Selma Vilhunen, also an Academy Award nominee, talk about the teenage love story in the age of the alt-right.

I’m back! Summer is ending and so too is Endeavour’s hiatus. And it’s appropriate that my first guest back is a friend of the show! Reza Sholeh is an actor, writer, director, producer and self-styled “investigative filmmaker”. One of his most recent projects was the documentary “Passport Control” which looked at Human Smuggling in Southeast Asia. He is now working on spiritual sequel “Outlaw Land” which can be described as Anthony Bourdain meets Black Market.

Leo Scherman is a writer and director whose new film is Trench 11, a horror film set in the trenches of World War 1 France in 1918. Starring Rossif Sutherland, Karine Vanasse and Shaun Benson, Trench 11 takes a unique look at the horrors of war

Faran Tahir is a character actor who has been appearing on screens for over 20 years, making his debut in Disney’s live action version of The Jungle Book in 1994. He has since appeared in many other projects including Star Trek and Iron Man. Tahir is always on television having guest-starred in numerous shows including Lost, 24, Supernatural, 7th Heaven to name a few. He currently recurs on Supergirl as well as 12 Monkeys. His newest film is Mad Genius.

Jenesia is a husband-and-wife duo from Spruce Grove, AB. After many years of performing under the moniker Soap Box, they re-tooled themselves and released their new brand in May. As Jenesia, they recently released their debut EP Catch-22, which is available now.

Sook-Yin Lee is a musician, actress, broadcaster and filmmaker. As a broadcaster and VJ she hosted The Wedge on MuchMusic and Definitely Not The Opera on CBC Radio One. As an actress she has appeared in The Art of Woo, opposite Adam Beach, 3 Needles, Jack – in which she played Olivia Chow – and two films by John Cameron Mitchell – Hedwig and the Angry Inch, and Shortbus. She made her feature directorial debut with Year of the Carnivore, and also contributed a segment to the anthology film Toronto Stories. She is back with her feature as director Octavio Is Dead, a supernatural drama film starring Sarah Gadon. It opens June 22nd.

Eamon McGrath is a Canadian singer and songwriter whose sixth album, Tantramar, was released on June 2nd.

Robert Webb is best-known as half of the BAFTA Award-winning comedy team Mitchell & Webb, with comedy partner David Mitchell. Currently appearing in the show Back, their previous work includes That Mitchell & Webb Sound, That Mitchell & Webb Look, and, most famously, Peep Show. However, he is stretching his writing wings and releasing a memoir How Not To Be A Boy, a look at it means to be a man and the stereotypes and gender roles of masculinity. It is out now.

Ritch Savin-Williams is professor emeritus of development psychology at Cornell University. His research mainly looks at sexual identity, specifically in adolescents, young adults and sexual minorities. The author of numerous publications of sexuality and sexual identity, his latest is Mostly Straight: Sexual Fluidity Among Men.
