Episode 111 – Ending Sexploitation Podcast
This episode is all about the KIDS Act and why it poses a threat to the safety of kids online. Haley McNamara (Executive Director at NCOSE) and Dani Pinter (Director of the NCOSE Law Center) discuss the reasons that this legislation has been so suddenly fast-tracked and supported by Big Tech. The language in this bill might sound good at a quick glance, but a closer scrutiny of the wording by our team of experts reveals a much darker reality.

Haley McNamara (Executive Director at NCOSE) is joined by Lily Moric (Communications and Content Strategist at NCOSE) to discuss Kik – a popular messaging app that one convicted sex offender described as a "predator's paradise." After thoroughly testing Kik in recent months, our team has discovered that the new so-called "safety features" are not what they seem to be. Haley and Lily chat about the features and why they aren't actually making the app any safer.

NOTE: In this podcast episode, it is stated that the account which openly advertised being underage received sexual solicitations, while the control account did not. However, in future tests of the Kik platform, all accounts received sexual messages, regardless of professed age.

Episode 108 - Ending Sexploitation Podcast
In this episode, Dani Pinter and Haley McNamara talk about the ways that TikTok has become more and more unsafe after making some positive changes just a few years ago. TikTok earned its way onto our 2026 Dirty Dozen List because it continues to fail at protecting children, letting predators use messaging, comments, and livestreams to groom and exploit minors. There are other issues with the platform as well, and Haley and Dani discuss that as well as a recent investigation that documented the alarming scope of child exploitation activities.

When larger institutions speak up, the conversation in our culture and around the world can start to shift.
Haley McNamara & Dani Pinter discuss 3 recent headlines that illustrate the importance of leaders and prominent institutions speaking up about sexual exploitation. Pope Leo XIV released his first encyclical, which addresses many aspects of emerging technology – particularly Artificial Intelligence. The United Nations issued a statement from experts Reem Alsalem and Ana Brian Nougrères on the complicity of online pornographic platforms and other intermediaries in sexual exploitation of women and girls. The FTC has received a complaint filed by Fairplay and NCOSE with support of many partner organizations alleging that the design of Roblox puts kids at risk.

Haley McNamara (Executive Director and Chief Strategy Officer at NCOSE) talks about the latest news about Meta as the big tech company appears to be threatening to shut down service in New Mexico over the legal fight with the state's Attorney General. She also talks about the recent change in the United Kingdom where Pornhub is apparently letting Apple users back on its platform. These are major developments that beg the question: Are big tech companies actually making improvements because of the legal and legislative roadblocks they are facing, or are they simply adapting to new strategies and continuing on as usual?
