Late coming to boxing and by his own admission even later committing seriously to the sport. Second episode in a short few days - this one looks back at the fights from the last 7 days or there abouts and of course ahead to the 2 golitihian battles at Fight Camp 4 this coming weekend.
Al reviews the MTK from Wakefield which featured Pierce 'Big Bang' O'Leary, Sean 'The Public Nuciance' McComb and King Kong Jono Carroll. Having already featured the Friday night fight between Eric Donovan and Zelfa Barrett, we look back at the performances of Paddy Donovan, Micheal Conland and 'The Jakal' Carl Frampton at York Hall last Saturday night.
Limerick boxing fanatic and Katie Taylor superfan Abbie GOodman joins Al as she tells us about her recent confirmation, the name she took and what she thinks will happen as her idol Katie Taylor faces what is widely considered to have been her toughed opponent to date.
Al wraps up by previewing that fight - reminding you of some of the facts and notes from that epic first battle at MSG in June 2019. Then the featur fight of the weekend and year so far as Dillian Whyte looks to continue a sensational run of wins when he faces Russiasn superstar Oleksander Povetkin.

Anto Cacace recently referred to hiim as the 'Magic Man Mark Dunlop' an intro David Diamante or Buffer himself would be proud of.
Mark is widely regarded and respected as being one of the hardest working managers in the game, as a fella who represents and works for THE FIGHTER first, and as the man who is taking fighters on to the biggest and best stage of world boxing.
As he says himself the offers come thick and fast but he has chosen meticulously and chosen well - who to represent.
Mark Dunlop is a man who I believe is so much more of a 'do'er' than a talker - so it makes his chat with me on this episode all the more special.

You could be forgiven for forgetting just how much Dave Coldwell has done in boxing. Or indeed for how long he has been around the sport. From his childhood years training under Brendan Ingle and where he made a very special group of friends and built eveeything he's needed for life - not
just in boxing. Afer his brief pro career he set out training boxers like Kell Brook (British Title) Ryan Rhodes (European) and then into the murky waters of management and promotion. Then on tothe biggest stage with David Haye at the peak of his career where negotioating with Golden Boy promotions, Klitchko and the rest taught him all he needed for a future that saw him live so manyspecial nights as coach and mentor to Tony Bellew.
He chats about all of that in this episode and more and also tells us how maybe he didnt take timeto live in those moments - to enjoy them, saying "I think as people we're chasing the future too much". It's a wonderful insight to a man who has managed, mentored and coached so many and helped them to realise their dreams.

Boxing is littered wit fairytale stories of accidental champions, unfortunate also-rans and pretty much evrrything else in between - Sam Egglington's story is quite possibly the best of them all. IN this episode he chats with Al about a series of lightbulb moments in a life that went from him being a redundant forklift driver with no interest or knowledge in boxing, to beinga Midlands Area Champion, on to being a Commonwealth champion and signed with Matchroom Boxing. That catipulted him into a succession of card topping, title fights and entertaining fans all around the world, yet the magnitude of those events or results never affected him and as he tells us here - certainly never defined him.
Sam is without doubt one of the sport of boxing's most genine, humble and nice guys and its a pleasureto have him on the show.

Last time we welcomed Dec Spelman to the show he was deep in preparations for the first defence of his English light heavyweight title agaainst an opponent he was facing for the second time and who is now heling him in his preparations for the upcoming Commonwealth title fight - Shakakan Pitters. There's many cliches in this boxing workd but it is safe to say Dec is a genuine, humble and ordinary fella who is daring to be great and achieving
extraordinary things as he goes. He chats in this episode about his upcoming title fight, on how he managed to stay fit and motivated throughout the lockdown period and on a very unique and special bond he enjoys with his manager, promoter and close pal Carl Greaves.

With approximately 12 seperate cards coming over a hectic 10 week period - 'Fight Size' is a
series of episodes which will be approx 35mins each (fight size) and feature one boxer per episode. Kicking us off with the first is James McGivern - the young Belfast boxer who did it all as an amateur and has just turned pro.
He won Irish titles all the way through to Elite Senior titles, Commonwealth medals and Europeantitles. Along that journey life threw up far tougher tests than any opponent could in the ring. In this episode James tells us all about this journey, the highs & lows - life in camp and a coach he refers affectionately to as 'Johnny Bravo' - who goes far and beyond the job description of a coach for his fighters.

The recent boxing headlines have been bloated by the news and details of Jarrell Miller's latest failings. In this episode we look at the information surrounding this and the news around the boxing world.
Last time we wecomed John Joe Nevin on the show he was 3 days out from his WBA International title foght with tough Nicaraguan Freddy Fonsecca. Nevin went on to win that fight and delivered a perfroamnce that most - if not all Irish boxing fans hoped for. Indeed that win announced his arrival at contender level of professional boxing. He's back today to talk about that fight, the performance, his coach Jimmy McDonnell and of course the recent war of words on social media with fellow Irish featherweight Jono Carroll.
Also on this episode is a fella who's become known as one of the most colourful, entertaining and skilled fighters of his generation. He had a title laiden & internationally recognised amateur career. As a professional he has featured in some of the biggest Irish domestic clashes in recent times - Deco Geragthy makes his first appearance with us to talk about all of that and more.
