Loneliness is prevalent in our world. It's one of Satan's greatest weapons, and because God knew that, so he gave us some guidelines about what we can do to combat it. The community of the church is the remedy for loneliness!

He's adopted us into his own family, and he asks us to do the same, whether literally or figuratively in the way we love and care for others. Think of the things about our world, our country, our governments, our communities, and our families that could change if we took care of those who need cared for! God's plan was for it to be up to us and even though it can be scary, he promises to care for us as we care for others.

Maybe we don't hate any one group of people, so we assume we are good, right? As we will see, though, hatred is also about the absence of love: it's more about the how than the who. When we know the context behind the words of Jesus we find in the Bible, we hear what he has to say about racism, and how we can keep hatred from our own hearts.

Maybe it's your resolution, the outcome of an ongoing circumstance, a relationship, even just a better life. It's easy for us to think some things are impossible, but God has a whole bunch of possibilities for us and they can drastically change our own little world!

God knew we couldn't handle the pressure to do or be good enough, and it's why he sent Jesus to take the weight off of us. Christmas celebrates that Jesus was born, and remembers the reason he came. Give yourself a gift and let Jesus take your weight this year.

Interruptions to our plans can seem like it's the end of the road, and we won't be heading where we wanted to go. Maybe it's an illness, a job change, an relationship that's ended, or any number of things that redirect our focus and energy. But God wants us to know that these can be our biggest opportunities to get somewhere amazing. There are 2 questions we must answer for him to take us there. Are you willing to do it?

Maybe you've never thought of your life as a war, but you wouldn't say that it's peaceful, either. As we look at the story behind the Christmas story you'd normally hear this time of year, we find that maybe our life really is more like a war than we thought. What we think is our problem that takes our peace may not be our real problem. But there is hope: God tells us what he wants to do to restore our peace! Do you need more peace? As we take a look at the Christmas story from a different angle, we see the loneliness that could've been. But we also learn that it's our response and God's truth that change the effects of loneliness on our lives. You are valuable. You are loved. You are not alone.

You might not know it, but fear may be what's directing your life. Or maybe you do know, but you don't know where to start in altering it's course. Today is the day to begin taking some baby steps in a new direction! Because we'll always get the same results if we don't start somewhere, right?

Even though God may not always give us what we ask for, do we trust him enough to believe that he will give us whatever it is that we need? That's tough! From thinking that we know best to surrendering that will of ours to get what we want, those steps will be hard, but God promises they will move us forward into something better.
