What does it mean to be holy, and what does it look like to pursue holiness when life's been flipped upside down? This teaching dives into these questions and more by looking at the book of 1 Peter.

In the book of 1 Peter, the apostle Peter is writing to Christians living in modern-day Turkey who were facing significant opposition. In his letter, Peter gives them the resources to be battle ready. In this teaching, Pastor Brian walks us through what living hope is, how to take hold of a new functional faith, and how to take a step in faith.

Pastor Jordan takes us through Matthew 27.45-46 for our 2020 Good Friday service. Who do you turn to during times of suffering? By studying these scriptures, we can see Jesus turning to God. To find strength, we must submit to God in suffering. This podcast digs deeper into the words of Jesus, "My God, My God, why have you forsaken me?" and will show you where God is during our tough times.

Looking at the Biblical story of Priscilla, we can see another example of what God does through people who might otherwise be overlooked. Priscilla responded to God and her story gives us clarity for what it looks like to respond to God. In this teaching, we learn what it means to say yes to God with our relationships, calling, and resources. God will take whatever we have, use it, and redeem it for His kingdom.

God can use anyone as a spiritual influencer. Looking at the story of Deborah from the book of Judges, we can see the impact Deborah was able to have by using her gifting for greater purposes. In this teaching, we learn how to hear from God and speak life into tough situations. We also learn how to take initiative under God's authority.

In this teaching, we look at the Biblical life of Lydia. Lydia was wealthy and used her wealth to advance the kingdom by starting a home in her house, launching the very first church in Europe. She put her resources at God's disposal. In this study, we learn what it looks like for us to have an influence on the kingdom as Lydia did, leaving a lasting influence.

In this teaching, we get a sense of what real influence looks like. We focus on 3 striking features of the life of Biblical influencer Junia and the spiritual impact she had in the early church. We learn how people of spiritual influence have a calling and are willing to stay faithful to that calling even when it is costly. We then learn how to apply this to our lives and how to stay faithful to the general and specific callings each of us has on our own lives.

For Global Focus Sunday, we dedicated an entire Sunday to how we share our heart for meeting the urgent physical and spiritual needs of people around the world. We were joined by representatives from our partners: Josh Duncan from Mountain Child USA in Nepal, Vlade Vaquez from Manos de Jesus in Guatemala, and Gary De León from TAVA Project in Guatemala. Each shared how our partnerships are helping to reach people all across the globe with the life-changing message of the Gospel.

Do you find yourself in a place of spiritual boredom? Being filled with the Holy Spirit creates renewed worship, greater Christ-likeness, and power and gifting for ministry. God exists as 3 persons in 1: Father, Son/Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. The scriptures say the Holy Spirit comes to dwell in the life of every person who puts their trust in Jesus. But the Holy Spirit also wants to give you more. This teaching gives keys to how to step into more.

Sex is designed by God and it is very good. We take a look at scripture to understand the design of sex in marriage and how it glues us to someone physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Although there are differences between men and women, we can learn to understand those differences to create a more fulfilling sex life in marriage.
