How do we make flying in a Helicopter Safe?

We take a look at the N72EX helicopter that held NBA MVP Kobe Bryant, his daughter and 7 others. This tragedy is what sparked the research that went into this episode and I did my best to stick to the facts and try to focus on the situation with an engineering lens.

What do engineers need to look at in the future to make this mode of vehicle even safer?

SHARE this episode if you agree that more safety should be considered for this mode of transport.

Cyber Security Vulnerability Assessments give industry the opportunity to know where they may have weaknesses in their system. Engineers who design solutions try to look at things with many lenses such as safety, but security is now another aspect that should be considered even more than it used to be.

As someone who has made these assessments in the critical infrastructure space it has been interesting to take this birds eye look at systems and considering the unique problems being faced in OT environments. Visit this page for understanding differences between IT and OT environments when it comes to cyber security.

This episode breaks down some steps and what is being looked for during one of these assessments and we look at what lessons we can learn and apply to the real world.

One thing you may think about when starting a new engineering job is how you are going to integrate yourself and "hit the ground running" so to speak. You want your previous experiences to give you a head start but by the same token you know that there is so much unknown you can't exactly directly apply as if you are just continuing what you were doing before.
