Hannah Bauman started Between the Lines Editorial as a writing advice blog in 2016 and turned it into her full-time job in 2017. As a fiction editor, Hannah works with authors writing in a variety of genres, including sci-fi, fantasy, and romance for middle grade, young adult, and adult audiences.
Hannah graduated with her B.A. in International Affairs and English from Florida State University, where she also received her graduate certification in Editing and Publishing. She is a member of the Editorial Freelancers Association and ACES, the Society for Editing.
As a former corporate editor and a creative writer at heart, Hannah approaches her work with a balance of structure and creative suggestions that fit the author’s vision for the project. She believes editing is about nuance and education, aiming to let the author’s unique voice shine through while still teaching them something new. All right, let’s dive into the interview.
