The Object Relations or Harmony Groups were developed in part by Dr. David Daniels and Riso & Hudson to help us understand how we relate to, connect with, and engage with the world. An object relation is how we influence or are influenced by something/someone else. It is how we express ourselves through other people/things as an expression of a particular parental wound. In this episode, we discuss The Attachment Triad (Pragmatists).
The Attachment Group is composed of Types 3, 6, and 9. Those with an attachment object relation feel satisfied if their needs (with people, situations, thoughts) are met, thereby securing a sense of self and stability. As a means of attaching themselves, these types adjust their ways to be consistent with important people and groups they want to be in good regard with. Fitting in, aligning, and thriving with others can be essential to these types. Attaching and detaching from others can also be used as an unconscious habit to prove one's importance and place.
