Is it ok to lie to help someone? I am not referring to the innocent lies we say when being asked, how do I look? How is the food? Am I growing fat?
Amazon Prime commissioned OML to create 14 Stand-up specials last year. After a very good reception, this year we are seeing webseries created by stand-ups.
One of the very successful stand-up special has been Zakir Khan's Haqse Single, Chacha Vidhayak Hain Hamare is created to capitalise on his popularity.
Set in Indore around Ronnie (Zakir Khan), his two friends Anwar & Kranti and the love of his life Avantika. To create an impression on people, to get things done, he says that local MLA (Vidhayak) is his paternal uncle.
This series is a fun journey of aimless wanderer Ronnie who is willing to do anything to help Avantika or others and how his actions get him into confrontation with the Vidhayak.
Season 1 is used to set up Ronnie and it leaves us with interesting possibilities for season 2.
This one reminded me of Kundan Shah and Shahrukh Khan's 90s movie Kabhi Haan Kabhi Na.
