How many of you know about stickball? How many of you have played stick ball? Stickball is pretty much like baseball. It is a street game and also includes bases. It is played in large cities like New York city and Philadelphia. You play it with a broom handle and rubber ball. I've seen players toss the ball into the air and hit it on the way down or after one or more bounces. There are still people that play stickball.

In the past, according to history, legendary all star Willie Mays played stickball in Harlem when he was a New York Giant in the 1950s.

Have you heard about The Jersey Stickball Titans? They are a stickball team originally known as the Jersey City Saints stickball team. The team was originally formed by Pete Carrion Sr. Now his son Pete Carrion Jr. That’s pretty much all I know about the team. There’s a clip of them playing stickball on YouTube. Look for: Bronx Legacy VS. New Jersey Titans: Rondo Hits a Game Winning Sac Fly Stickball. They make stickball look like so much fun.

Today I want to tell you about another great man that was in black baseball name Rube Foster. While he was known for his fastball, Rube was also credited with the invention of the screwball. He taught Christy Mathewson how to throw a screwball. Rube Foster seemed very brilliant. He owned, founded, and managed the Chicago American Giants, one of the most successful black baseball teams of the pre-integration era. Foster was considered by historians perhaps the best African American pitcher of the first decade of the 1900s.

It was 1920 that foster owned and managed manager of the Chicago American Giants organize the Negro National League which became the first stable and financially successful black baseball league.

In 1981, Foster was elected to the National Baseball Hall of Fame. He was the first representative of the Negro Leagues elected as a pioneer or executive.

It was sad how Rube Foster died. It is said that he was asphyxiated by a gas leak. He was not quite the same. He had to be institutionalized. He died in an insane asylume in Kankake, Illinois. Many speculate that the gas leak was to take Rube out. The great Andrew Rube Foster.

I haven't seen any films on Rufus the talking or being interviewed but there is one quote I've read by Rube Foster.

He said: Do not worry. Try to appear jolly and Iconcerned. I have smiled often with the bases full with two strikes and three balls on the batter. This seems to unnerve.

Rube Foster died Dec.9,1930 at the age of 51.

Today's topic: Bullet Rogan. I must say that I'm learning that there were more African-American players in baseball history besides Jackie Robinson. Most of my life I've just heard about Jackie. So today I'm going to talk about Bullet Joe who's real name was Wilber Joe Rogan.


He was an American pitcher outfielder and manager for the Kansas City Monarchs in the Negro baseball leagues from 1922 1938. Renowned as a two-way player who could both hit and pitch successfully, one statistical compilation shows Rogan winning more games than any other pitcher in Negro leagues history and ranking fourth highest in career batting average. He was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1998.

Rogan's early baseball career took place in the U.S. Army, where he played for a famous team in the all-black 25th Infantry. After joining the Kansas City Monarchs, he was the top pitcher and one of the best hitters on a team that won three pennants from 1923 to 1925 and the 1924 Colored World Series. He became a playing manager in 1926 and led his team to another league title in 1929.

Today's topic: Ghost Ballers VS Three Headed Monsters.

It was season six week six. Brandon Moss knows how to hustle. I call him the hustler. He’s on the big3’s Three Headed Monster’s team. He’s strong in the air in making slam dunks.


I watched the Three Headed Monsters play against the Ghost Ballers. I noticed another great player on the Baller’s his team. His name is Mike Taylor. I heard the announcer say he's a rhythm player and confident player. Taylor is great in shooting 3’s. Ghost Baller’s dominated the first half 25 to 10.But Moss kept going to the rim in the second half. It was 44 to 30 Ghost Ballers.

Reggie Evans looks like Shaq on the Three Headed Monsters team. It was like one on one between Reggie Evans and Mike Taylor. Mike kept Reggie from making his shot 46 to 32. Ghost Ballers.

Later it's 51 to 37. Ghost Ballers win.

Allen Iverson Nicknamed "the Answer", he played 14 seasons in the National Basketball Association (NBA) at both the shooting guard and point guard positions. Iverson won NBA Rookie of the Year Award in 1997 and was an 11-time NBA All-Star, won the All-Star game MVP award in 2001 and 2005, and was the NBA's Most Valuable Player (MVP) in 2001. He was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2016. In October 2021, he was named to the NBA 75th Anniversary Team.[3] Iverson is often regarded as one of the greatest scorers and one of the most influential players in NBA history. He officially retired in Oct. 2013. But Allen Iverson also done coaching in the Big3 basketball league. Iverson has done a lot of crossovering in his career. What I mean by that is he accomplished a lot.

Now, I'd like to talk about Allen Iverson’s crossover against Jordan. Iverson bounced the ball between his legs as Jordan stood guarding him, and the ball went out of his left hand to his right, and he made the shot over Jordan. Allen Iverson was a fan of Michael Jordan's but Iverson’s ability to cross Jordan should have told him something. Yes we have our heroes and are inspired by them. Basketball talent wasn't given to just one man. Heroes are incredible, and you can be somebody's hero too. Michael Jordan played his way outstanding, and Allen Iverson played his way outstanding. There is only one Michael Jordan and there's only one Allen Iverson which brought great competition to the NBA.

Hi! I'm Gail Nobles! today I want to talk about the basketball arena video game. The first time I played I couldn't win. I had a hard time winning. You have to move at the right time. The game lets you get a little practice before starting the game on the moves. You have to practice and keep up with the moves of your opponent so you can know what to do.

The second time I played I surprisingly won 9-7. The third time I played it was 13- 7. I won again. I was getting better and better, but they got all those daily rewards and things for you to collect. I just like to play and win games. You have to go back and play every day to get rewards and all that. I like to stop when I'm tired and pick up where I left off.

I think multiple players can play the game. It’s an all star season. I might decide to go back again one day and give it another shot. That little man was beating me up at the beginning. He even slam dunked on me. That’s something I never got to do in the game on him. It was almost like it was real. That little man could play ball. He was tough. I got to show him.

I'm hearing the sound of a different drummer of the NBA. The Sacramento Kings are making some noise for the headlines. They have a rising big 3 according to the news that could take over the NBA: De'Aaron Fox, Domantas Sabonis, and Keegan Murray are the Sacramento Trio.

I hear a drum sound coming from the Sacramento band letting us know they are full of cheer. It’s a drumline. The Rising 3 is showtime. They are the big 3 without fear.

ABA the (American basketball Association) was a major men's professional basketball league from 1967 to 1976. The ABA cease to exist with the ABA-NBA merger in 1976 leading to four ABA teams joining the NBA and to the introduction of the three-point shot in the NBA in 1979.

Moses Malone played in the ABA and in the NBA from 1974 through 1995. A Center, he was named the NBA Most Valuable Player three times, was a 12 time NBA All-Star, and an eight time All NBA Team selection. Malone the Philadelphia 76ers to an NBA championship in 1983 winning both the league and finals MVP. He was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in his first year of eligibility in 2001. Widely regarded as one of the greatest players in the sports history, Malone is also seen as one of the most underrated NBA players.

Malone began his professional career out of high school after he was elected in the third round of the 1974 ABA draft by the Utah Stars. He was named an ABA all-star as a rookie and played two seasons in the league until it merged with the NBA in 1976.

Lets talk about Malones ABA career. After the Utah Stars of the ABA selected him in the third round of the 1974 NBA Draft, Malone decided to become a professional, becoming the first player in modern professional basketball to enter directly from high school. He began his professional career with Utah in the 1974-75 season after signing a five-year contract worth $1 million. As a rookie, he was named an ABA all star and earned ABA All-Rookie honors.

Hello I'm Gail Nobles, and I'm going to talk about Ice Cubes Big3 basketball. When the game came on CBS, the first Big3 team that caught my eye was Trilogy. They were playing against the team call Power. Power won the game on July 9, 2023. The game was on the air on a Sunday. I talked about the game live on the sister podcast EPS Inside Look. The game is new to me, and I'm just learning about the teams and players.

The Trilogy team has a talented player I have never seen and heard of before. His name is Ryan Carter. I just noticed him for season 6 week 4. The Trilogy was playing against the team 3 Headed Monsters, and the Trilogy team won the game 50 to 36.

On the 3 Headed Monsters' team, I'm learning who Brandon Moss is. He falls down, goes after the ball, and works hard to get the ball in the basket spinning and makes a shot.

Ryan Carter goes underneath and makes his shot in the first half. 21 to 24 Trilogy.

Both teams had a player that caught my eye. Ryan Carter made a big three, and the game was over for the second half. The 3 Headed Monsters 36 points and Trilogy 50 points. You’re listening to EPS.
