July 07, 2023Earl Manigault-The Double Dunk 7:7:23 7.21 PMPhoto credit: Charliesamuels - Own workUsage: Wikipedia CC BY 3.0Streetball Have you ever seen or heard of the double dunk? I've never seen a player double dunk before. Have you ever heard of a man that played basketball name Earl Manigualt? According to Wikipedia, he was an American Street basketball player who was nicknamed “The Goat” or “The Lip”. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest basketball players to never play in the NBA. To dunk a ball then dunk it in again before coming back down sounds hot I believe he was one of the greatest. Earl was born in Charleston South Carolina and raised in Harlem New York. Manigualt was particularly famous for his leaping abilities on the basketball court much of his legend is unsupported playground myth including his signature move the double dunk. He allegedly would dunk the ball, catch it with his left hand, switch the ball to his right hand, bring it back around to the top of the basket and jam it through again, all done while still in the air on a single jump and without hanging on the rim. This is a story repeatedly told but unconfirmed. It was refuted by Manigualt himself in a CNN interview available on YouTube when he called the reports of this feat rubbish, stating not even the goat could do that. I wonder why he said that. I believe he did it, and it has been said that Kareem Abdul-Jabbar knew him and said he was the goat. Earl Manigualt played with Kareem and other players such as Earl Monroe & Connie Hawkins. Like all the street basketball as of the day such as Jackie Jackson, Manigualt was reportedly able to touch the top of the backboard to retrieve quarters and dollar bills.Manigualt passed away from congestive heart failure in 1998 at the age of 53. Although he never played in the NBA and only briefly played in college, the legend of Manigualt has spread far and wide and led to his play being glorified in magazines books and movies. In 1996 HBO aired a TV movie about Manigualt’s life entitled “Rebound: The Legend of Earl “The Goat” Manigault.I sure would have loved to see him do that Double Dunk. That’s amazing! The man is smart. The league consist of 12 teams whose rosters include both former NBA players and international players. The rules of big three games contain deviations from the official rules of three on three basketball as administered by FIBA that's international basketball Federation. It is an association of national organizations which governs the sport of basketball worldwide. The rules of fireball3, the basketball variant played by big three differ from FIBA sanctioned three on three games. There are a lot of rules listed and explained on Wikipedia. During the 2017 and 2018 seasons players on the 30 years were not eligible to compete in the league in 2019 the league change the minimum age to 27 years and in 2021 the minimum age was lowered again to 22. For 2023 Big3 launched Big3TV to scream all its games on its own website internationally and all games not televised on CBS in the United StatesI've watched some highlights on the big three win Trilogy took on 3s company. It was some highlights from five years ago from Fox Sports. To me, the game looks just as exciting as the NBA. There are just less players on a team than the NBA.Ice Cube always did seem intelligent. July 06, 2023Super Human-Victor Wembanyama 7:6:23 3.04 PMStory by: Gail NoblesSports crowd: https://mixkit.coBall Slam: https://freesfx.co.ukPhoto credit: Thomas S - https://www.flickr.com/photos/tsavoja/52582281656/Usage: Wikipedia CC BY-SA 2.0Good afternoon. I'm Gail nobles. Today I'm going to talk about Wembanyama. He can really take the ball to the hoop he can really throw it down. Wemby can take onto defenders according to what I have seen. Victor Wembanyama is a French professional basketball player for the San Antonio Spurs of the NBA. He was selected first overall by the spurs in the 2023 NBA draft. With a list of high of 7'5" inches, Wembanyama is the tallest NBA player tallest NBA player.According to Wikipedia, Wembanyama is widely regarded as one of the greatest NBA prospects of his generation, and many publications have called him the most anticipated prospect since LeBron James in 2003.People talk about Wembanyama like he's super human and something that you've never seen before. I'm hearing rumors on YouTube that he's not human and that he is able to guard the court at one time looking at the highlights. People always question people that are able to do things no one has ever done before. What I see is a blessed athletic male player. Maybe he is given something that is not given to anyone else. That can happen. It has happened before. The shuffle was given to Muhammad Ali. No one has done it the way he has. Sometimes you can be blessed to have something no one else has ever had. It’s not impossible. I’d like to say good luck to Victor Wembanyama. Victor Wembanyama! Never seen anyone like him before! Super human! All about sports....more3minPlay
July 06, 2023Elly De La Cruz Bat Check -7:6:23 12.21 PMStory by: Gail NoblesPhoto credit: Minda Haas Kuhlmann - https://www.flickr.com/photos/mindahaas/52871797088/Usage: Wikipedia CC BY 2.0Elly De La Cruz. I just happened to be in the Google new searching for baseball. I saw Elly’s name and photo for baseball. He plays on the Cincinnati Red’s team. A day ago I saw that he made baseball history with July 4 performance against the Washington Nationals. Elly De La Cruz is a rookie. I'm just learning about him but it looks like he's been doing well the whole time. I've heard about his speed and fast career home run. He has his first career triple. He recorded the fastest sprint speed in MLB this year 2023 in that triple. Do you wanna know something? Elly is doing so well that he's been questioned. What I mean about that is they gave him a bat check, and it sure wasn't because he was not doing well. Elly has a knob on his bat that got approved by major-league baseball. It is said that De La Cruz has used it since 2021 and that he likes the feel of his plastic cover. Then what’s the problem? According to Dela Cruz, the knob on his bat is just a sensor. It’s something that he feels comfortable with. I would say more about the bat check but I won't. According to the news, Elly De La Cruz hits a 455-foot home run after the bat check. At age 17, Henderson signed with the Ignite after graduating early from high school and became the youngest player in G League history. In his second season, he was selected as a captain of the G League Next Up Game. Henderson was drafted as the 3rd pick in the 2023 NBA draft by the Blazers.Henderson can jump high for an alley-oop. He can steal the ball and slam. He can make things happen on the court with his team. I wouldn’t want to be in his way while slamming. Henderson slams hard and can shoot 3 pointers. There’s nothing on the court he can’t do, He’s big and strong. So when you see Scoot Henderson, you know it’s showtime. Showtime Scoot Henderson. That’s what I call him. He’s very energetic. He can bounce the ball behind his back, do lay-ups, he can steal, he has the jump-shot, he can reverse, move around, lay a ball in, he can move fast, and make rebounds, Henderson doesn’t slow down. July 04, 2023We Need A Variety of NBA Champions 7:4:23 3.33 PMStory by: Gail NoblesIllustration by: Gail NoblesWe need a variety of new great champions in the NBA world. In the old days, we heard about Wilt Chamberlain, Dr. J, Kareem, Magic Johnson, & Isiah Thomas just to name a few. Then when Michael Jordan came along, you heard about him more than any player. Now we hear about LeBron James a lot. But it doesn’t hurt to have a variety of great players like in the old days. It makes competition more exciting. We don’t need every player to be the same because everybody can’t be a Michael Jordan. There might be somebody out there that can play better than him. I think the players should be allowed to be different. In the old days, the players were different, and they were all great champions. There were different styles in different players. It doesn’t hurt to have different styles. It makes the game of basketball more interesting. Dr. J had his own style, and Magic Johnson had his own style. Isiah Thomas had his own style, and so did Michael Jordan. They all made the NBA fun to watch and exciting. You’re listening to EPS. Tune in next time for more. May 10, 2023Many Arms 5:10:23 7.42 PMStory by: Gail NoblesArt by: Gail NoblesHello! I'm Gail NoblesToday's topic is Many Arms on EPS.You have got to be tough in the National Hockey League. Hockey sticks swing hard and pucks fly everywhere. It’s an obstacle game, and life is full of obstacles. I come to tell you a story. There was a man that played hockey. His teammates called him Many Arms, and his arms were very strong. Many arms moved so quickly and was an aggressive player. He was a fighter and hitter. There were major and minor penalties for the player. He moved as if he had four arms altogether. Many Arms fought hard in the game. His hair was usually spiked, and he wore a mean look on his face. It was a giant war on ice, and Many Arms never wore a helment. He was trapped inside an ancient world in his mind playing hockey. Many Arms remained a great warrior that way winning many games. But there were times he felt himself slowing down with age wanting to retire. Many Arms really only had two arms whenever he grew tired and needed rest. Playing hockey is not an easy game and can put a strain on a hockey player. Hockey players are constantly skating and moving up and down and all around on ice. It takes a lot of energy. If you’re a hockey player like Many Arms, don’t forget to rest. All about sports....more3minPlay
