Jason is the host of the Leading is Serving Podcast, a show that provides resources and conversations for businesses and organizations promoting a people-first leadership, encouraging leaders to fight for the highest good of others and give back to their community.  In addition to his work with leadership development, Jason is also the founder of 6 String Creative, a social media management company for small businesses and nonprofits. 

Jason is also the founder of a new non-profit in his community called The Uncommons.  His dream is to eventually build a space in the community for coworking/shared office space, event space, and a gathering space with multiple food and drink options.

In this episode Jon and Les introduce you to an amazing young entrepreneur named Karis Hortin.  As a young girl, Karis was adopted from an orphanage in Ethiopia and grew up with a strong desire to eventually return and serve others in a similar place through some kind of missionary work.  

However, when she took part in the CEO (Creating Entrepreneurial Opportunities) program through her high school, Karis was introduced to the reality that she could make an impact on the mission field through business just as much, if not more, than through what is traditionally thought of as ministry work.  

During her time in college, Karis launched two different businesses.  She is the founder of Socials Made Simple, a company that serves small businesses, churches, and nonprofits by helping them tell their story well through the powerful platforms of social media.  

We are excited to see what lies ahead for Karis as she is just getting started, but we are certain she will make a significant impact for the kingdom through her ministry of entrepreneurialism.

Ryan Steuer holds the distinguished honor of being a two-time returning guest to the EntrePastors podcast!  At one time, Ryan served as a pastor of a small congregation in rural Indiana, but his pathway into pastoral ministry was not necessarily via the traditional route.  

Ryan came out of the world of engineering and public education and launched a non-profit called Magnify Learning that teaches Project Based Learning in schools all across the nation.  Recently, Ryan transitioned Magnify Learning from a non-profit model to a for-profit business.  The impact of this transition has been huge for Ryan, his family, and his ministry.  

He has also just launched Magnify Missions and is helping missionaries create more entrepreneurial ways of raising their financial support for the ministry they are called to.  In this episode Ryan talks about the mindset shifts he is helping missionaries make as they learn to look at fundraising from a whole new perspective.

Recently, both Jon and Les finished reading the book, Buy Back Your Time by Dan Martell.  Toward the end of his book Dan shares what he calls the 7 Pillars of Life and talks about how we need to be making investments into every one of these areas.

On this episode of the EntrePastors podcast, Jon talks with Joshua Brown, also known as “The Pressure Washing Pastor.”  Joshua has an incredible story of growing up on the streets of Nashville, living a life that was drifting far away from the Lord, but then being radically saved and transformed by the love of God.  

His passion for the Lord led him into spending many years serving in various vocational ministry roles.  For Joshua, it seemed the more heavily he pursued the vocational work within the church, the further removed he felt from giving his life to actual ministry that was impacting others.  

In 2016, feeling both the frustration of the bureaucracy of church work along with the extreme financial hardships it was causing his family, Joshua launched his own pressure washing company.  Over the next few years he would see his company grow into multiple locations with revenue that he never could have imagined.  

But the thing that Joshua found most exciting about his new role in the marketplace, was the endless opportunities to care for and shepherd people.  Eventually he was given the title “the pressure washing pastor” by a group of businessmen in his community.  

Joshua decided to run with that mantle and now feels called by God to help others experience the same joys of profitable business and ministry that he has been able to experience - by helping them launch their own pressure washing ventures as well.
