I\'m a great believer of \'everything in life has a lesson - if you look for it\'. While I didn\'t realise it at the time a horrible customer encounter around 1997 taught me everything I needed to know about buyer personas.

Even though the customer made me cry (listen to discover how) I still learnt so much. Unconsciously as a sales assistant I adapted and changed based on this one customer.

There was also an important lesson about leadership and how working with great people can have a massive impact on how you treat other people.

2009 and despite a personal massive set back and the financial crisis I plunged into the world of self employment. Field of dreams \'if you build they will come\' couldn\'t have been more wrong.

It\'s a story of how I had worked for one of the most amazing employers ever; they had given me so much training, development and support.

But while I worked in the same building, the company was very different now and not in a good way.

I had lost my passion, my purpose and worse of all I was now in hospital!
