Columbia, Missouri. 2004. When a group of friends saw a young male student lying on the ground between two apartment buildings on the University of Missouri campus, they thought he was just passed out from a night of heavy drinking. However, on closer inspection, they saw blood everywhere. When police arrived, they initially considered that perhaps he had fallen after trying to jump from the roof of one building to another. But it quickly became clear that this was not the case.
